Porting FoFix to iPhone?
I might be able to port FoFix to the iPhone.
What do you guys think about it? Good idea? What do the developers think?
What I think is waiting for 4.0 to come out...

Re: Porting FoFix to iPhone?
Of course it IS possible, but it seems that no one here would take the time to make it. And Apple would most-likely decline it unless we only used the songs in the Original FOF. Maybe in the Cydia Store?
Can we get this forum going again?

I never said it isn't possible lol.
I was jus trying to get opinions of whether I should do it or not.
And yes my plan already was to put it in Cydia. It would allow us many more possibilities then on the App Store.

And 4.0 is already out. We are on 4.1 now.

FoFiX's Google Code page update from yesterday wrote:The release of 4.0 is still quite a long way away; we probably won't even hit beta in the near future.
Porting FoFiX to iPhone would be a complete rewrite of the entire game. Feel free to try, but it will be an enormous amount of work.

It is actually possible to run Python code on an iPhone. So that's why I want to try, because I could keep the base of the game and edit out what needs to be edited for it to work.

Re: Porting FoFix to iPhone?
If somebody was going to fork the code to an iPhone branch, they should definitely wait for the next stable release, considering it has been 9.5 months in the making already.

Yh that's what I was thinking about.. Tho it will take a very long time probably. =(

Btw if I do it, at least the first version will only have support for Wii GH Guitars. (might work on Rock Band Guitars too). That's cool though, right ;) :P

Re: Porting FoFix to iPhone?
Well, I totally support this idea. I would love to see it happen. There could also be access to the high scores, and I have an idea for getting custom songs into the game.

Great that you support it

They are already building the database for songs for 4.0 - that's why I am probably gonna wait. I'll make all songs that were and will be made for FoFix totally compatible with the iPhone version. (no edits needed)

I couldn't get what I want on Android that i want on iOS. Since iOS is jailbreakable I have no problems what so ever about all the copyrighted songs that exist on FoFix, and all the themes that are copied from other rhythm games.
Re: Porting FoFix to iPhone?
So what you're implying is that the Android OS isn't ALREADY jailbroken? Or rather, ready to run homebrew apps?
Android as pretty much absolutely no restrictions whatsoever on it as far as running homebrew programs, plus, I'm sure it's easier to write for.

I have sooooo many homebrew apps on winMo 6.5
I'm not even 'jailbroken'.

Why are you talking about Windows phone when i have it about iOS and Android?
The market for Windows Phone is too small, I am not gonna develop for it. Only for iOS. Also because a lot of features I want are already created, like having the WiiMote control your iPod touch/iPhone. This could be edited to work with the Wii Guitar ;)
