FoFiX Development IRC - Come and talk to us!

Postby jstump91 » Sun Dec 27, 2009 5:24 am

We've had this IRC channel for a while for our own use, but we decided that in the interest of more open development we would open it up.

So come on in and ask us a question, make a comment, observe the development process, suggest something, or otherwise get involved.

IRC Network: OFTC (irc.oftc.net)
Channel: #fofix (what else?)

If you don't feel like setting up an IRC client, nwru has created a mibbit widget link.

Note that the subforum rules still apply in cases where it makes sense, so don't go asking us when stuff will be done or asking for help setting yourself up to run from git.

Note also that this channel is intended mostly for serious development discussion, though reasonable idle distraction is of course still acceptable if it's not annoying and we're not in the middle of something.

Keep in mind that this is being made available on a strictly let's-try-and-see-whether-it's-helpful basis. If too many users cause problems for us, this channel is going right back to being fully private again. Please don't make us have to do that.

Enjoy!

P.s. Those who are lazy to open up their IRC client can use this : http://mibbit.com/?channel=%23fofix&server=irc.oftc.net :tongue2:

nwru has created a mibbit widget link (mibbit-fofix.php), which has been added to the first post.

:woot:
I don't have IRC client and don't want to install it. So, Mibbit is my only friend. Good one, nwru.

Well, you know, people are busy. And what with people constantly demanding that developers write more code or fix X feature right now every time they appear, I can't say I'm surprised.

I'd definitely say that the IRC has gotten much more lively lately.

Don't give up on FoFiX. It's been difficult with many developers disappearing lately, but IRC has become the main place where we're trying to get things back together again and put some life back into the project.

What's it saying when you try to connect to it?

I think stump wanted a more precise answer. IRC is usually pretty good about pinpointing a problem via an error message.

Also, works here.
