FoFix Portable?

I was wondering if it was a way to make fofix (specially 3.120) portable.

As above, a laptop..

Or you could just take a flash drive around with you with all the stuff you want on it

But as for stuff like PSP and such.. I've heard it brought up quite a few times, but I don't think it really can work out

I think it already is portable. Just try and you'll see.
EDIT: I meant that you can put it to your portable hard drive or usb-stick and play it from there.

As of now, making FoFiX portable would be a very difficult thing to accomplish. Playing it on a laptop (like unpurexdoa said) would probably be the closest thing to mobile FoFiX that you could do.

If you mean portable as in portable apps, all you need to do is download the archived version instead of the installer, put a fofix.ini (fretsonfire.ini for older versions) in the same folder as the exe and you're done.

Well, I mean portable to put it in a multisession CD or DVD to go adding new songs and play from there, but for what i see in your replies it looks like I'll have to get an older version to play from the DVD.

Another little question if you dont mind

Can i have the FoFix in my pc and play the songs from a dvd or usb?

USB yes, DVD... Probably not. It has to write scores and things to the songs, so I suspect the game would just crash. Hopefully this kind of thing will be fixed in the future.
To play songs from a USB, you have to change your songs folder in game (and the songs need to be in a folder named "songs")

I remember fixing up the code awhile back so it allows you to play from a DVD, because I myself have a lot of songs and a small hard drive and that was the easiest way to save space. I don't know if the code got corrupt anywhere between then and now but all you really should need to do is set your base_library to the cd drive.

if you have a flash drive just get the whole file and just drop it on the flash drive.
i got it on my flash drive and it works fine with me. but get the file in a zipped file or folder.
cause if you get the exe than you'll get a lot of errors

Hey guys I also have a portable question too. U see I have a portable usb hard drive that is like 120 gigs but when I put the fofix folder in there and tried playing it from there it wouldn't work. And when I just tried to put my songs in the drive and locate them with the game I couldn't find the device. I hope I don't hog the attention I really need more memory!

Samething for me ^^ And like that, we can bring our RB / GH controller and play together (I have a Wii and my friends have PS3... but we can play together on PC :P )
