Rock Band RBN tools and RB2 theme materials

They released the midi stuff for making songs for RBN, and it includes a whole bunch of graphics for the in-game preview.
Some cool stuff it has that we can use:
great looking animated hitflames
Animated bass drum hitflames
Sustain graphics
2d notes (Although they look like crap compared to the real game ones)
beat & measure lines
I haven't messed around too much in the song creator itself, but Reaper only has a 30-day trial. You CAN output to mid so I'm sure you can make FoF songs with it

This page has a ton of info on how 2 chart from the guys who pretty much invented charting. Pretty much everything you ever needed to know about the RB midi format. This is pretty incredible
It's really cool, check it out

WHOA! AWESOME!
Now we need to find a way on how to input that into the game.

I haven't touched a GH related game for 6 months. Woo. My (dead) song thread: Contains horrible things.

That. is. awesome.
This will help a ton with charting lower difficulties, and will be great for referring people to when they are still learning to chart.

Yes! Thank you Harmonix!
I've just skimmed it quickly, but I like those charting rules they've laid out.

Best part of that is the charting guidelines. Tells you what each chord selection should represent and what to do with difficulty levels. Awesome
Edit: heh seems like everyone got in before me Where did you find those notes images? I couldn't see them anywhere in the downloads section

Download the RBN installer plug-in thing for Reaper, and then just run the .exe pointing it to just any folder. The images and stuff are in there.

When you install the reaper addon, they are in REAPER/Plugins/FX/rbprev

I see them now, thanks The notes are pretty awful, but the RBN background may come in handy at some point. I got the Reaper trial so I think I'll mess around with some RB ripped tracks.

How can I add a black background to it to turn it to a hitflame?

It's called a paint program. For example, Photoshop, Gimp, etc...
Chances are even if you set it up "correctly", it's not going to work in FoFiX, as those pieces have to fall a lot further than the FoFiX hitflames currently allow.

I've been trying to mess around with reaper, but I don't think my rock band plugins are even working
It looks exactly the same as vanilla Reaper and none of the special key shortcuts they talk about do anything. I've tried reinstalling it but still no dice
