Spec recommendation for Fofix

Postby hmpws » Thu Sep 03, 2009 9:02 am

I have been playing Fofix 3.120 beta py2.4 (works smoother than 2.6 for some reason, updating to rc1 soon) with RB2 theme on my laptop with a Nvidia 9600m GT DDR2 512mb, Core 2 P8400, 3GB ram, etc. and it seems to run fine for single player, but with multi-player it lags a bit and enough that it is uncomfortable (and I go back to playing GHWT on PS3). Any recommendations on settings tweak would be much appreciated, but this is not the main reason I am posting.

I also have an older desktop, which I am looking to change into a media center to be put next to my HDTV. It has 2GB DDR2 ram, Core 2 E6550 and Nvidia 6600GT atm, but I am looking to upgrade the graphic card for hardware video decoding (to use with video tuner), so basically before I go out and get a relative cheap model (probably limited to Nvidia for my choice atm due to better drivers), which card would you recommend for smooth playing Fofix at 1080p? Is the CPU good enough? From what I can gather most of the performance issue with Fofix seems to be with some of the coding and not so much the hardware?

9800 would be good. But its got more to do with coding than hardware.
