starpower???

Postby rockerape » Wed Jul 01, 2009 6:19 pm

Hi guys, i've had a lot of free time lately so i have been able to explore the menus of FOF (RB2 mod) and i found 2 new things(i'm new at this game).
The first one is "killswitch" which i already know works only when the yellow bar is at least half full (yellow/orange/brown bar. )
The second one is "starpower" which i would like someone to explain because i don't know what i have to do to use it. I really have no idea.

Thanks in advance.
(if there is any spelling mistake or what i wrote doesn't make any sense, sure is not my fault since i am not a native English speaker. :tongue2: But i hope you can help me) :2thumbsup:
I might have misuse some emoticons so don't let them deceive you. :tongue2:

I had to edit the post because noone has given the answer i need """starpower""" what is it for and how do i use it? what do i have to do in the game to use it?

Killswitch is used on sustained (long) notes to get more starpower. You press a button to use starpower, and for a short amount of time the amount of points you earn is doubled.

First, killswitch is to mute the sound and get the star power doubled in long notes.
Second, star power or we call over drive in RB, is the yellow bar. Once it has half filled, activate it and you got scores multiplied up until 8x and easier to increase the life bar.

Starpower multiplies your score for 2x whatever you already have. Let's say you have a 4x multiplier, well starpower multiplies it to make it 8x, but only for a short period of time. If you're playing on a controller, you need to map it somewhere on that controller (i.e. select, start) because the module the in the controller that activates it through console systems cannot (yet?) be used with the game.

Guy is obviously a begginer, and your lols aren't helping. I think that the starpower button is defaultly set to PageUp. Hit it in game, when the yellow bar at the bottom is half full.

Why can't you just map the star power to tilt up on the guitar? It does work.

Also, my description of star power:
When playing a song, a series of different looking notes will come down the fretboard. In the Guitar Hero themes for example, these will be shaped like stars. If you hit all the star notes without missing any, you gain some star power, which can be seen as a star power bar filling up, or a number of lights lighting up depending on the theme.
When the meter is at least half full, a message on the screen will show "Star Power Ready!" and you can press the Star Power button to activate it. Your current multiplier will be doubled and the star power will start draining, and when you run out then the multiplier will go back to normal.

As mentioned above, Star Power can also be called Overdrive

Tilting works on some guitars, but not others. The PS3 GH3 and GH:WT, in particular, do not have usable tilt sensors. From my experience, Rock Band guitars do tend to have working tilt sensors. Can't say for other stuff.

Ah. I've only ever used Wii controllers (which require everything to go through GlovePIE anyway) and an old PS2 GHII controller which I think worked correctly (it's been a long time and the guitar wasn't mine to begin with).

Both the X360 GH3 and GH:WT guitars have working tilt sensors.
