Re: Uberlight version 1.8 [3.121/4.0 Git as of 6/13/10]
Me and estemshorn have got the theme so much smaller than it was, i mean its epic small now. We are still working on it but it will for sure be below 100kb/
The main thing we did was edit the font to use the least amount of points it brought the font from 19 kb to 9kb we also got a smaller blank ogg thanks to fuzion it was 1kb smaller.

Well sicne my two week ban is finally up, I don't have to get weirdpeople to come in here to say what I want lol.
But yeah, uberlight 2.0 is ALMOST done, it just needs for some things to be fixed, and shuldn't take too long.
While I hoped for this update to be ready to release before my ban was up, so that I could post it the second I got out, but sadly due to my laziness (and weirdpeople's not exactly laziness, he's been more focused on tweaking the fack out of FoFix 4.0 lol) it's not ready yet.

Re: Uberlight version 1.8 [3.121/4.0 Git as of 6/13/10]
We're trying to get out 2.0 as fast as we can.
Yeah, we've been putting it off, but I've actually had excuses to not do it. (band camp, school almost here, etc)
But we need to get 2.0 out soon, and we will.
So, just keep on the lookout for it, and we'll post it here the second that it's ready.

For band camp I had 12 hours a day lol.
That's the reason I was basically dead to the internet for a week.

yep, we're just doing a tiny bit of tweaking.
So, I promise. AND I MEAN I PROMISE, the new update will be out tomorrow.
As a matter of when tomorrow, I don't know exactly when, because it's gonna be a pretty busy day for me, so I'll upload it when I can (it won't take long to upload, but I have to actaully be home to do it. And I have to update the first post as well)

Re: Uberlight version 2.0 [56.2 kb]
And here it is folks, Uberlight 2.0.
2.0 is really a remarkable release, we have put Tons of work into it and has resulted in it being almost 1/3 of the size of 1.8 clocking in at a tiny 56.2 kb.
Some of the Changes in this release are:
Removed un-needed oggs
Smaller blank oggs provided by Fuzion
Notes that are a tiny resolution
Frets have been optimized alot
The font used in 1.8 was modified by me to use the least ammount of points possible per character, reducing the font's size from 19 kb to 9 kb
Removed loading.ttf as its not required
Removed the bass groove necks
Removed un-necessary characters in the theme.ini
Fixed the bug that made the od bar fill up in just one od phrase
New mult's that are very small in file size
New main menu text that matches the new font
Fixed the size of the Rock max to match the rockmeter
As you can see from that pretty big list we have put alot of hard work into 2.0 we sure you like it, enjoy.

Now i should get crackin' on that 4.0 verstion which will be even smaller than this

Re: Uberlight version 2.0!! [3.121/4.0 Git as of 6/13/10]
Update first post. and about the screenshots, ima copy and paste what I wrote up there
sorry, no screenies yet, we're currently fixing some things that weirdpeople left in by accident (yes i'm blaming him because it was fine last night, and then he went to work on it, fixed lots of things, made it smaller, but accidentally left a couple things in that are all f*cked up olo). So, when 2.0.1 releases, there will be screenies, and most likely a video.

The notes. Actually its nearly impossible to see the yellow note. Couldnt you just leave a yellow sidebar and make the neck still be black?

Weirdpeople was working on the overdrive necks to make them less blended with the yellow notes. Expect it to be fixed in release 2.0.1
It'd be easy to do what you said, but it would also take up a lot more space, as the ones we have right now are only 1x1 pixels. While a sidebar idea like you had would take up a lot more space.
And also, I apologize on my not working on this, and just letting weirdpeople do it, but I have sh*t to do today, so all I can really do is just talk with him, tell him what I want and don't want, and help out here on the thread and take suggestions.
Thanks,
Eric
