Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Naw, I put it as an option for the theme.ini because it's more of a stylistic thing. It's more of an option that the theme creator should decide fits the look of their theme more than a player should decide. If you don't like it then it's as simple as removing the option in the theme.ini if it's there.

Ok...
But as well as the setlist we use (by default it's the one that the theme developer puts on theme.ini) this should be a thing that we could set like (ON; OFF or by Theme). IMO.
But hey, you're the bosses...
Thank you for your quick reply.

I've got to go with Typhus here, since many other theme.ini options are set with On, Off, or by Theme, it would only make sense for the same thing to be done with 3D notes. That, and as I said in the other thread, editing a theme.ini file is intimidating for a novice. Not because it's hard -- it isn't -- but because text scares people, and options are... easier.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
hey, im having a problem with the 3D notes in K.I.D's RB2 and its causing it to crash. (pic is the message error details)
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/5518/pythonproblem.png
i took out the original notes to fix it but it would let me go back to the RB2 mod after that.
any help on this fix would be greatly appreciated
btw the version im using is v3.120 alpha rev1222 and all required modules are installed
thanks

Aaw man couldn't you just have written the messege instead of dumping a while image? (could hardly make out the text here with this blurry screen)
Anyway, did you check the log, might give away exactly WHERE the error occurs (you're suspecting the 3D notes, but are you sure it's not something else?).
Is it impossible to copy paste text from the windows terminal or something? I' have no experience with the windows terminal, and on linux I've always been ablt to copy text without any problems (mainly wondering why there's so many that post images instead of just writing/copying the messeges).
---Edit---
Can someone confirm this, when playing without Ho/Po's getting to a solo the game crashes, not sure exactly what happened, but the solo is rather far into the song I was playing so I don't want to play it several times myself just to make sure, here's the log out put:
...
Okay so I gave it another try with the same settings. Got a seg fault: Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault
Aborted
Really nice that I can crash in fullscreen without any problems now. =D
(k)Ubuntu 8.10 skyscraper 2.6.27-11-generic i686 GNU/Linux KDE 4.2.0
It's not like I dislike sleeping, I really do like it to be honest. It's the whole wake up/go to sleep business I don't like.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
OK; I see what else is happening here in FoFiX issue 640. Drum freestyle sections are now discounted in realtime, as they are encountered (since you won't be hitting EVERY drum fill). Guitar and bass BRE sections are discounted in advance, as they require special note pairing and handling of chord notes.
This should be fixed in r1223.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
when can you guys release a public patch? I (and im sure others) do not want to have to download 5 different python programs to play the latest rev. I know how to use SVN but the whole multiple python programs u need and stuff is too much for me. Im not trying to sound like a jerk but it would be nice to have some of the new features.

When it's ready for more widespread public testing.

You can see at the latest bugreports, that some of the new features are still producing bugs, so if these bugs are ironed out, there will be a Public Beta, that's for sure.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Halp! Sometimes the songs worked fine, but now after doing some preference tweaking all that remains is the background track. I don't know which option broke it. Apart from this, I suffer from all kinds of performance problems, even in menu, despite having quite a powerful pc (nvidia gf8800, intel q6600, vista x64). I've got the old fofix working fine on archlinux, though. Googling around didn't provide any remotely helpful suggestions. Anyone, then?

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Progress committed in r1226:
Preliminary implementation of FoFiX issue 521 (new "NIL Show Next Score" option) - partially works, but the displayed difficulty names are screwy. Disabled by default. If anyone notices a pattern by which the displayed difficulties get screwed up when this new option is enabled, please post here or in the issue - I'm currently confused.
---- EDIT ----
Nevermind:
FoFiX issue 521 Screwiness resolved in r1227.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
I notice you're adding a wiki page for the options. I presume you will mostly be using my explanations? If so, be aware I am going to be updating my PDF quite soon (possibly tonight)
