Yeah that fixed the problem. But no credit graphics for me.
FoFiX show optionsbg.png instead. That image is also shown briefly (like a loading screen) between "controller select screen" and "character select."
Same thing when i hit exit. (it shows just before fofix exits)

Changed to Python 2.6 but still same problem.. Tried in both GH3 and RB2 themes.. Worked before.

Strange.. I have just played 4 diffrent RB1 songs and all worked.. no crash.

confirming that on xp fofix will lock up (black screen) before the results screen with no log message

the only way out is to end program, tried it with rb2(kid),gh3(wr), and bioshock with the same results

also tried running from sources and compiling with no effect

neck_032 wasn't present and didn't crash my game?

updated themes and fofix .svns then tested 30 min prior to this writing using the 2.6 build

is it maybe because we're using 2.6, i thought i read 2.6 had sqlite 3 is that the difference?

edit: every time i run the .exe after compiling the file "default.ini" in the new users\plalyers folder gets modified somehow and shows the red exclimation point.

edit2: just got 2.4 working again (will only run from source) and still having the gameresults black screen

no such lockup here on Windows Vista/7. r1211 from source, python 2.6, RB2 theme...
Weird. Why is it working on some and not others?

People have reported problems with the oBar_hScale stuff not working properly (especially in the RB2 theme thread) and I've come up with a theory as to why.

This is pretty much exactly what we're talking about. It's now been coded to work in-game, along with characters/profiles. If you don't use SVN to get the FoFiX alphas, then you'll see this in 3.120 when it's released (or possibly a beta, before that).

duh,

deleting the contents of my "fretsonfire.ini" and resetting all my settings solved my problem :O)

i love the new way instruments(controllers) are handled

the new character features are very cool, but i can't figure out how to change the little character picture ingame.

been experimenting with the lobby folder kid included in rb2

Go into your data/users/ directory, and name a png file exactly the same as your character ini file.

Hello,

Even though I am not actively testing SVN releases, could you please point me to some info about the way that the new instrument / controller concept is supposed to work.... If it has anything to do with assigning profiles to multiple inputs that can be selected on the fly, then this is the feature I have been waiting for the longest!

Basically that's it. You create controller objects and then plug in 4 of them at a time in the options menu, and then assign the controllers to the player objects right after you choose your game mode (Quickplay, etc). Pretty nice coincidence that you posted about it just recently as I've been working on it for a few weeks now!

Yup. Set the Start button as Esc. That will work. You'll have to use a different button for cancel though.

The issue of optionsbg.png (and optionspanel.png) briefly showing :

  • when hitting "exit" on the main menu,
  • when going back from the Setlist to the main menu,
  • and in various other occasions where it shouldn't,

is a long-standing "glitch" (it appeared around v2.900,when FoFiX wasn't even named like that, IINM).


Though it's interesting (from a debugging point-of-view, of course :tongue: ) to see that it now also affects the new character & controller select screens.

hey everyone. 1st post, yeay. i got the svn done here,and iam using rb2 svn. working great and nice instructions too. was easy. question about the esc setting. it wont let ypou use esc with new controls, i think its because it ognores esc since it even tells you to hit a key or hit esc to cancel. i edited the control file mysself and it is config how i want it. wanted to let the makers know this.

Yeah, I always had this "problem" from the beginning, but it never really nerved me, so I just ignore it.
But would be nice to see a fix for this. Probably we should create an Issue on Googlecode?

Fixed - (if you'd given that at first it would have been done faster, unless you did and I didn't see it...)

Whatever you did, I am unable to enter the "Options" anymore. It just crashes the game and exits. No log... I can play though

On FoFIX SVN 1212 and linuxMint
linuxmint 7 (Jaunty 9.04), KDE 4.2.3, 32-bit with python2.6 installed running FoFiX-SVN. P4-2.4Ghz, 1gig ram, BFG Nvidia 8400 GS (512mb) - beta driver 185.18.14, 2x X-ploder guitars.
