Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Wow, I just tested FoFiX r1604 on an old laptop, and I noticed that the rock meter took a while to fail. Anyone else having this problem? Any chance this can be fixed before 3.120 release? This is technically a bug. It would be nice if I could give this game to some friends, but this bug is almost a show-stopper for them. Basically the ease of playing a song is dependent on what computer you've got!
I have already starred this on the issue tracker. http://code.google.com/p/fofix/issues/detail?id=661&start=200 I have multiple computers to test the game on, if anyone wants me to test if this is still a problem later. I can confirm that failing takes significantly longer if i suddenly stop hitting notes on the old computer than on my newer one. I tested in solo quickplay mode with the rock band 2 theme svn 80.
EDIT: highpriority=false is already set in the ini on both computers.

i know this used to be a bug for sure. people talked about it all the time like a year ago or something. i thought it was fixed slightly but maybe thats only on the high end. like if you have a fast computer its slowed down, but if you have a slow computer, its not sped up? if you know what i mean.
i seem to remember the failing being crazy fast, dropping down in massive chunks on my computer at one time.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
AFIK FoFiX issue 661 hasn't been properly addressed yet. There may have been some improvements over time, but I don't think it's been worked on directly. There's been plenty of talk amongst the devs of doing a bit of code cleanup before the final release of 3.120, and concentrating more on code cleanup and optimization before the release after that.
I'm hoping it's one of those issues that will be magically fixed after some code cleanup, but in any case we'll just have to wait and see for a while I think.

Could someone answer my question?
Puppetz wrote:QUESTION: Is the career thing still the same, or are there any changes? Two people has complained so far that my "PH's" can't be played in Career as they can't get the second tier unlocked?! And it was probably cause they had a new FoF version?! So are there any new things that should be added there? And are there new things that can be added to the ini file? (newest I knew about were; icon, year, album, loading phrase)
Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Can someone make an issue about making overdrive gaining and depletion speed BPM dependant?
Well, i guess its BPM dependant because its different in each song, but I'm not 100% sure.
e.g. for anyone who has RB2, try whamy-ing in the energy phrases of "Bodhisattva" and of pretty much any other song and notice that on Bodhisattva it goes up WAY faster
This has been bugging me for AGES
Also, did anyone else notice that whamy-ing on energy phrases gives you more energy in RB2theme than in GH3theme? Or is it just me?
puppetz.. 5 posts before you someone said don't quote yourself

@lvl4573r:
What ever happened to making the issue yourself? (After, of course, making sure nobody already made the same issue, though we do have the ability to mark duplicate issues as such.)
In regard to not quoting yourself, it wasn't just anyone who said that - said person holds moderator privileges, though it may not be apparent at first...
I can't answer that question, but one of the others probably can, though that brings me to another point...
I actually intended that for everybody. Because we have a subforum all to ourselves now, we can do much better than still having one massive thread where all the questions go now that they won't bury all of the other FoF mod-related stuff. If you have a question that you want to make sure doesn't get buried under the rest of the posts in this thread, make a new thread. If you have a request for the developers (bug report, feature request, enhancement idea, etc.), post on the issue tracker. (But be sure to post things in the appropriate place of the two and to search first, like always.)
At some point in the future, I will lock this thread. The post volume in this thread can sometimes be unmanageable, even for us, and things seem to get lost more often now than before.

I haven't noticed this happening, but I have noticed that when you complete a song in your hero the game still tells you "play to advance"
At that point I would get pissed and stop trying to go forward because I couldn't tell my progress.
So this problem might have been around for awhile.

When I open your song folder (pupetzz's one) there is no carrer.

Puppetz one was pre-career mode.
There is no title.ini, unlock_id's, etc... unless you download them separately or make them yourself.

I had the same problem. I fixed it in no time by just deleting the fofix.cache file in the PH folders...
P.S. Your fretting is freaking amazing dude!!

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
I don't think the development thread should be locked. Or if it is there ought to be a fresh one. Either way, I think we'll need a very heavily moderated thread from this point on. All posts not strictly related to aiding development should be deleted. I know that seems quite impractical right now, with all the random posts flying around, but it's doable. Actually, if we made a new thread and made clear the guidelines for posting in the first post, that could actually work.
EDIT: Oh, wait, the error I was going to post about has already just been fixed. Damn.

I disagree. We now have a sub-forum. Questions and errors can be discussed there, or better yet, on Google Code. Furthermore any development related news, or things necessary for alpha-testing can be taken care of there.
With the sub-forum, the dev thread has served it's purpose. We practically have a development/game forum.

The only thing keeping me from locking this thread right now so as to force everyone to use either new, separate threads or the issue tracker is that we (the devs) aren't quite ready to experience life sans dev thread yet.

For what it's worth, I'd prefer a relatively loosely moderated main thread for news and general comments so as to provide an outlet for tangential conversation. That's the one function that the dev thread serves that I feel would be somewhat more difficult to reproduce with the proposed system (and what I somewhat alluded to in the forum rules).
