Not even optionally?

I also updated the issue with an explanation of ternary operators and how to use them, even in Python 2.4

hey yall just wanted to say this game is awesome :2thumbsup: i have version 3.121 py2.6, and it works beautifully.
also would like to suggest allowing the program to support .mp4 videos for stages maybe even support the k-lite codec pack (http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm) so we can use any video file type.

The (long!) list of codecs supported by GStreamer (especially with its ffmpeg plugin) is not enough?

Note that GStreamer and ffmpeg are completely independent of "system" codecs, so codec packs won't do anything and are redundant.

Think hard before you do it, though, to make sure it's what you really want to do. Take every word in that thread to heart. We mean it.

EDIT: I'd love to help on the Mac Porting process myself and assist Trinidude if he needs it. As a CS Student, I'd love to learn the ropes and assist the one person who has ported virtually every Mod created so far. I seem to be getting an error in running FoFix.py on a Python 2.6 environment on a Snow Leopard Macbook. I've installed every required dependency and am encountering this error:

Code: Select all

    $ python fofix.py
Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)
    Abort trap

I'll give more info if needed.

Happy to assist,
Darkman

EDIT2: Found Problem: Fink. Runs now!

Yeah, its your own fault for not following the rules. The devs are doing this on their free time and without getting paid. So, just follow what they said.

it's not that, I have NEVER broken any rules. (probably cause i dont post at all). i have read almost all of them, i just feel like the developers are making this for themselves, i feel like if i don't learn how to code i'm not gonna be able to play again, cause i'm gonna have issues and get bashed for asking...

i appreciate the fact that their doing it in their free time without getting paid, but like i said before i think fof has become a game that is meant for coders, and not the average gamer.

PS sorry for my english i'm from venezuela.

Any issues you have, feel free to post them. Just make sure you check out google code first to make sure we're not already aware of it, and don't expect anything in the alphas to work properly. That's all we ask.
If you look closer, you'll find it's not the devs that "bash" people for asking about issues, it's mainly trolls.

As for being a game that's mainly for coders, that's not the case. Most of the discussion may be about coding, and there's a bit of coding involved in themeing and so forth, but all you really have to do is download a stable version, a decent theme and some songs and you're ready to go... No coding at all.

I guess your right, i just almost never talk over the internet, too much trolling, and i do appreciate everything you guys have done, if not i'd prolly still be playing fof with ugly keyboard keys and no themes and stuff, I'm still having fun with 3.121, once 4.0 is done ill probably get it, I won't even THINK about getting an alpha, iñm not that impatient and my computer is a piece of crap so... any ways, keep up the good work so that we may se 4.0 soon, hell, i might even learn python and make my own themes.

peace.
