if you are using the py2.4 version from the fofix-news-page,
try this version:

it worked, but now i have some delay when playing a song...

Check to see that your hit window hasn't been switched back to "tight" or "tightest", if it has switch it back to "normal". I dunno FoFiX did that to a lot of people.

T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

@cyberconan: thanks for the suggestions. I've attempted to nicely integrate it to the wiki page. Suggestions are welcome.

Excellent Evilynux, only one thing more: Ubuntu has python2.6 as default version. We need force 2.5 version using "python2.5 FoFiX.py" when run source. Byee!!

Is anyone else getting tons of small jumps in-game with RC1 like me? I just played the full release of 3.100 and it was super smooth, when I play RC1 I can barely get 3 stars on songs because it's jumping so much. I have all the same settings I'm using on 3.100 and I've tried having the psyco both on and off.

The latest alpha (r1836) is working good for me. No "jumping", the game is smooth.

I started my fofix.ini from scratch and tweaked everything and got a bit better performance out of it(still not as good as 3.100 but they've added more stuff since then so maybe that's partially to blame for the slow down).

.:Edit:.
Never mind, it started it's crap again. I can't believe how much more it's screwing up over beta 2, I thought this was supposed to be close to release perfection.

Does the FoFiX-3.100-Full-Win32.rar(that's the one that runs really smooth on my computer) download on the fofix site run off of PyOpenGl 3.x or 2.0.2? I'm using the 3.x version of RC1 on my computer but maybe I need to switch to 2.0.2.

...yes.

Confirmed 3.100 release does not have this issue. I do not know which revision this began with, as I have been inactive for some time.

The developers are aware of this issue, although I may be the only one experiencing it.

My setups, for comparison (tried on multiple computers). I am running Windows XP Professional SP2 on both systems:

Generic tower:
Pentium 4 3.4GHz
ECS EliteGroup 915P-A2 motherboard
2GB 666MHz dual-channel RAM
nVidia GeForce 7600GS PCIe / 512MB
Onboard sound (C-Media ALC880)

Dell Precision M65 laptop:
Pentium Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz
2GB 666MHz dual-channel RAM
nVidia Quadro FX 350m (256MB + 256MB shared)
Onboard sound

Both PCs play rather smoothly with 3.100 final, and both are quite jumpy and unplayable with 3.120 (tried both Python / OGL combinations).

AMD 2500+ Barton series <---- key componet :2thumbsup:
nvidia Geforce 5500 FX
1 gig ram
epox 8rda3+ MB
425 Watts
Xp Pro

Running Alpha (r1837) OGL 2.0.2 PY 2.4

Im having some lag but nothing that makes FoFiX unplayable, its tolerable and playable
and looking really nice, can't wait to load the GH3 theme

with the GH3 theme it was playable for abit, then FoFiX locked up and had to force quit, played three songs then i had to exit..

I get endless complaints and WTFs from friends when they try to play the newer versions because of the jumps, so we always end up back at 3.100 final.

It reminds me a lot of the problem with the current EU PC release of GHWT. Everything else is fine, but the fretboard and notes jump like crazy.

And yes, I'm aware that my computers are not all that grand, but the budgets involved were tiny. :)

yea its kinda a bummer, things are looking good tho so far, i enjoy runnin alpha just like others, the fretboard and jumpyness is something to be looked at, also wondering about the lockups that i get after playing a few songs...

I will be going to my hometown for a week on vacation this friday, and I plan to bring my laptop with me so I can take a look at the source again to see what I can figure out for this issue.

I look forward to playing and developing again, it will be a welcome break from my usual routine. :)
