More RB-like scoring options

Is this being worked on? I think having a more RB-like scoring would be cool. With the current scoring system, somehow I've reached Gold Star cutoff points on many of my songs and still no Gold Star (unless it's an FC which I've only done twice).

Nope, it's not being worked on at the moment. I don't know that any of us knew about it.

...probably something you could expect to see in version 4.0.

Wait, don't we have that already for RB-style star scoring? Isn't that what RB mode is?

I'm using the SVN for FoFiX, and I've had scoring set to RB+GH, RB, and RB2.

I think I found the problem. RB2 scores 25 points per chip, and somehow FoFiX scores 50 per chip. I doubled the RB2 cutoff score of 143179 and got 286358, while my highest score was 283500.

I remember ages ago there was a discussion about the 50 points being wrong for rock band (and perhaps GH too, I forget), but it was decided not to change it at the time due to the fact it would halve everyone's scores and no one would be able to get a high score on the online charts anymore.

I'm interested to know everyone's opinion on this: Should the scoring be brought into line with RB (/GH) at the cost of halving everyone's current scores?

Isn't too hard to clear out Divra's chart. Locally the .ini can be wiped - we were wanting to move scores to a SQL database anyway - seems like perfect timing.

It seems like they got the scoring scheme from Guitar Hero which awards 50 points a chip. That could pose a problem to those who like GH scoring as opposed to RB scoring. Different DBs CAN solve the issue but are you guys willing to do that?

I'd say screw both choices and chose your own. It's a different game, and a lot of people use different themes to prove it. Just then tell people a simple formula to get the RB/GH equivalent's of the scoring so people can compare to people playing those games, if they want.
