Hi! I need help. I have reinstalled the Windows XP and back-uped the FoFiX Folder on the external HDD. After the fresh instal of Windows I have installed the Python 2.4 with all requirements (I have been alpha tester before) and after SVN update I tried to run the game...and? I got this:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "FretsOnFire.py", line 38, in ?
  File "GameEngine.pyo", line 31, in ?
  File "OpenGL\__init__.pyo", line 18, in ?
  File "OpenGL\__init__.pyo", line 14, in __set_attributes
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'E:\\Games\\FoFiX\\data\\library.zip\\OpenGL\\version'

I would sugest you read the wiki ONCE more :P but as i am such a great guy here you go.

Code: Select all

This next part fixes a opengl/py2exe bug so it may not be necessary in the future. Only if you get an error when running the FretsOnFire.exe that says:

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'D:\\Games\\Frets on Fire\\dist\\data\\library.zip\\OpenGL\\version'

   1. Go to your Python directory and go into the Lib and then site-packages directory
   2. Go into the OpenGL directory and edit the file called __init__.py
   3. Replace the line that reads:

          __version__ = string.strip(open(filename).read()) with __version__ = '2.0.2.01'

   4. Save this file
   5. Delete __init__.pyc and __init__.pyo in the same directory

Apparently RB1 and RB2 tails look the same. Could have sworn they where diffrent before i looked :D

Anyway here are 2 videos (Not the best quality) that show how the tails look. One with 0% whammy and one with 100% whammy.
It's just 2 sinus curves. More whammy = larger curve. And when fenoftalein has implemented the particle effect then it can become almost complete :D

I got an issue with 3.100 and 3.120 beta 1 py2.6. Everytime i exit the game it doesn't exit completely. I have to go into the task manager and manually kill it.

I'm on win xp pro sp3

---- EDIT ----

Another problem i have the game set up for speed and i'm on a megalight theme and it still doesn't work great. I have the resolution set at 640 x 480. It's slow and laggy.

* @away_xbox straps 15 sticks of TNT to Amak11's body. The display reads [58] seconds.
<@away_xbox> Diffuse the timer by cutting the correct wire. There are 14 wires. They are Green White Peenus Indigo Black Gold Grey Brown Violet Turquoise Teal Magenta Mauve and Yellow.
<Amak11> oh really
<Belisario93> hmm
<Amak11> !cutwire Peenus
<@away_xbox> ...snip....
<@away_xbox> Amak11 cut the Peenus wire. This has defused the timer on the TNT! Just try and get it off you without setting it off, ok?

uf704 represents the F1 key. Why is that in there?

Well i don´t know if it has something to do with it but I use F1toF5 to play
It worked before so i don't think that could be the problem

Try extracting or deleting the library.zip.

Maybe try deleting Frets on Fire.app/Contents/Resources/data/users/players/FoFiX-players.cache and see if that fixes the error.

Are you sure that you have pyOpenGL "2.0.2.01" installed for python2.6? The link in the guide goes to a pyOpenGL 3.0.0 download.

Are you folowing this page? http://code.google.com/p/fofix/wiki/Run ... erPython26
If you are, tell us where you need more info, if it's not a case of info left out, are you sure that you should be using the svn to start with?
