Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Now, I got it. We have to use 2.6 now. I can't update my SVN because I'm still using 2.4. I hope 2.6 runs smoother!

Thanks, that solved my problem.
Sorry if I made grammar mistakes

I don't think you have to use python 2.6 yet. It should still run with python 2.4 as long as you have the correct dependencies installed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm still running with python 2.5 and pyopengl 2 and everything is still working.

2.6 is not required. 2.4 is still supported and will still be at least until we figure out the pyOpenGL performance issues under 2.6. If you have been following svn with 2.4, there's nothing extra you have to do. The 2.4 instructions are still exactly the same as they have always been.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
I'm currently working on 3 things.
1) New handling of 3D textures for fatdog
2) Drums can have their own custom 3d notes
3) Clean up the 3d texture rendering in the drum.py

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Hopefully you'll be ok with adding this one. (quietly asks)
4) Add offset to shadow fonts.
I noticed you mentioned if might not be hard to do in my thread. Thanks again.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
alright i still cant get alpha to work
there is nothing in my log file other than something about the pitchbend (which has for me at least always been there)
but when ever i run RunFofFromSources.bat i says on one line this:
'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
and it wont open the game
what dose that mean?

If you're using 2.4, be sure you had the Python installer add Python to the PATH.
If you're using 2.6, be sure you followed the instructions for manually adding Python to the PATH.

what PATH ur going to have to spell it out for me
The PATH is an environment variable that lists the folders to look in to find the matching .exe for commands that are executed (in this case, to run the "python" command Windows is looking for "python.exe" in each folder listed on the PATH, but since the folder that actually contains "python.exe" is not on the PATH, Windows cannot find it).
The 2.4 installer adds the correct folder to the PATH by default. The 2.6 installer does not, and it does not have an option to do so, instead requiring it to be done manually.
To this end, the 2.6 wiki page says the following:
RunningUnderPython26.wiki wrote:You will need to add the Python installation folder to the PATH. You can do this while the screen is showing in the installer that allows you to choose which folder Python will be installed to. Select the folder name and copy it to the Clipboard. Then open the Start menu, right-click on "My Computer" (XP/2003) or "Computer" (Vista/2008/Win7), and choose Properties. Go to the Advanced tab, then click Environment Variables. Under System Variables, find where the variable "PATH" (or "Path") is set, and double-click it to edit it. Add a semicolon (;) to the end of the existing value, then paste the folder name in after it. Click OK in each window until you are out of System Properties, then continue installing Python.
If you accepted the defaults in the Python installer, the correct folder to add to the PATH is C:\Python26 . There is no need to reinstall Python - you can do the steps above with Python already completely installed, as long as you know what folder it installed into; you will just type C:\Python26 (or whatever the real folder is) where the instructions say to paste the folder name.
