Admins, you may sticky this because i see alot of people asking about this.
:) hello everyone in this topic i'm gonna tell you everything you need to use your Guitar Hero controller in FoF. Ill try to explain everything as useful as i can.
OK, you have downloaded Xpadder and JoyToKey and maybe other programs. the first thing you gotta do is delete everything except Xpadder.we gonna work with Xpadder because it OWNS.
first step you gonna do is open up Xpadder:
Image
be sure to have your guitar plugged in your USB-port.
then hit the controller-button and select 'new'.
you should see THIS:Image
3.) Hit the GREEN note on your guitar controller, be sure its plugged in. you should see a square popping in the pink screen
4.) hit the RED button, it should pop-up too.
5.) hit the Yellow, blue and orange button too. NOTE:
When you have all the buttons on the screen press the button in order from green to orange. if you see the boxes wont light in the corresponding order, swap yellow with blue on Xpadder.
6.)Strum UP, strum DOWN, press down any other buttons there are on your guitar, it should look something like this:Image
now, swap the notes a bit with each other so that the green note is on the left and the orange on the right.
done? hit the FINISH tab and press close.
7.)now you should see the main screen with the controller buttons you've just set. hit the green note on your guitar and see if a button responses with it. hit that button.
do the same with all other buttons
it should look something like this:Image
now open FoF, it does not matter what FoF you are using,
set the keys to the corresponding buttons of the frets(Green=1Red=2yellow=3ETC just like in the img)
then hit test keys and see if the fret hits the corresponding note.
if every note is set good you'r ready to play!
about the wammy when you use Any alarian:
in the key settings(in FoF)go to Killswitch hit enter and FoF asks you to input a key for the Kw, simply push the whammy down all the way till FoF accepts your whammy, then go to GAME options> analog Killswitch ON then hit apply changes or something. ROCK ON!

FEEL VERY FREE TO POST AN REPLY AND SAY IF IT WORKED!

some people have better results with joytokey, other prefers glovepie and another driver fix has been posted here
Besides, not everyone needs additional software to get their guitar working

hello, i'm very confused. this thread's name is:

The answer to everything related to controllers

did that mean it workes really with ALL controllers like wii-guitars and ps2 guitars or only with xbox360 guitars?

if that means it worked only with xbox controllers can i buy any xbox controller or only a specific one? i saw a wireless and a cable-solution.

i want to buy a guitar that worked 100% with fof (favored wireless).

last and direct question: can i buy the xbox360 guitar hero3 wireless guitar controller and it worked or did i have to buy something more like a wireless-adapter for the pc (saw one at amazon.com). i don't like embrassing surprises after buy.

sorry for my bad questions, but i'm really confused to all that but ready to buy.

How did you get the strum up and down buttons to be two seperate ones instead of the D-Pad?

The strum up and down IS the D-Pad (POV-Up and POV-Down)

Of course you will need a wireless receiver to be able to use a wireless device. Same as you need a bluetooth receiver to use a bluetooth device.

@ the Original Poster. Like someone else pointed out. This is hardly a complete answer to all guitar problems. In the title you said answer for xpadder joy2key etc. Yet this completely ingores EVERYTHING apart from xpadder. You do realise some poeple dont use Xpadder becasue it doesnt work for them ( which would surely mean that xpadder DOESNT PWNE, how can it pwne if it fails? )
Yes this is handy for anyone who cant set up xpadder, but as far as being the complete answer to everything, im afraid you failed. you completely ignored helping people with joy2key and even the people that use glovepie, you also seemed to forget that some of us ( myself included) dont need anything to make the guitar work, ive never had a double strum problem with any guitar. So in my opinion, this is more of a fail than a win, and should definatly not be stickied as there are other poeple that have also shown us how to set up xpadder long before you and the havnt been sticked.

ok, now i buyed the xbox360 gh3 wireless guitar and the microsoft xbox-wireless receiver.

I can't get my wireless Les Paul 360 guitar to sync with my brand new wireless receiver for pc. I'v tried every trick in the book like changing to batteries , installing the software and updates everything I just can't figure out how to make it work. When I press the connect button on the receiver and then on the guitar they both roll around abit then they find each other and then the guitar keeps the four blinking quadrants again....???

Can anyone help????
