I downloaded The new RF Mod.
Deleted the FoF.ini
Uninstalled FoF
Installed a new one.
Replaced the stuff in the FoF folder with the RFMod stuff.
Tried to play a song.
Loading screen.
Then right before the song starts it tells me to go see the fretsonfire.exe text document to see what's wrong.

You don't need to do this. You just run it from the directory you download with RF-mod. It's an entire FoF release

This looks like you did not copy all the stuff. It's saying it does not know what lastEvent is. This is something that's in RF-mod and not in FoF. So you did not replace everything.
Just download and unzip the RF-mod directory, move your songs folder into the data folder
and then run it. That's all.

Just had the same problem. It took me a while to fix it... just DON'T enable settings > rf-mod settings > performance settings > disable stats
