TypeError when loading a song in practice mode

Postby narutostarwars123456 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:41 pm

There was a chart I created, Led Zeppelin Rock and Roll. This chart has regular guitar, bass, and drums, but also pro instruments for all three, including vocals. It was charted in EOF 1.8b36. There were practice sections added as well.
When I try to play the song in quickplay it won't load at all. When I try in Practice Mode it gives me "TypeError: iteration over non-sequence".

These are my specs and what I'm running:
1) Windows 7 Professional on an HP dv6z Laptop (But it's not just me who is having the problem)
2) FoFiX 3.121
3) Megalight

I looked at the log for FoFiX and got this:

Code: Select all

[   14.725000] (D) Retrieving sections from: C:\Users\Ian Mowers\Documents\FoFiX\data\songs\Led Zeppelin - Rock And Roll\notes.mid
[   15.246000] (W) Song.py: Unable to retrieve section names for practice mode selection: MidiSectionReader instance has no attribute 'sysex_event'
[   15.246000] (E) Loading error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 1020, in main
File "Engine.pyo", line 136, in run
File "Engine.pyo", line 124, in _runTask
File "SongChoosingScene.pyo", line 234, in run
TypeError: iteration over non-sequence

I have tried decrypting the files (no clue why Windows did that), removing the sections or modifying any ones that could cause conflict, removing the sections and replacing the solo sections with the solo markers, removing sections referring to specific parts, and removing anything in the song.ini that includes "sysex". So far, no dice. I need to figure this out quickly.

Its caused by the sysex_event in the pro drums notation(hi-hat).

If you remove that, it should work fine. Just something to keep in mind.

italianstal1ion wrote:1. notes.mid - complete notation
2. notes_fof - removed hi-hat notation
3. notes_rbn - removed hi-hat and expert+ notation (this is essentially the expert+ mid when saving normally)
4. notes_pro - the guitar stuff

They were talking about this problem awhile back (here) & NewCreature posted a patch for it (here).

Alright then.
I just need to notify the people who download my charts about the patch then...

I don't understand it a bit though, because I did prodrums on another chart of mine, without other pro-instruments, and it works fine.

EDIT: I actually have no clue where the patch goes either.

EDIT2: I tried removing the pro hi-hats and it still gave me the error.

Final Verdict:
Since I had prodrums work in the past, I left them. I had attempted to remove the probass and proguitar pieces. It now works.
So, it seems that prodrums now works, but if the chart has probass or proguitar it won't work.
