my friend just gave me his old rockband guitar. its pretty sweet, got the alt strumming and everything working thanks to xpadder (i tried joytokey but its not very using friendly =/). but i was wondering if there was a way to map the solo buttons to where i dont have to strum, the problem is in xpadder it recognizes the solo buttons as the same 5 lower frets. is there a way around this?
I was wrong... maybe

Maybe if you find a way to map the lower frets to pick and press the frets at the same time. This way for fast parts, tapping the lower keys will act like a pick and a fret. But the only problem there is that you can't hold long notes with those.

I can't, haha. Can't make use of that fifth key without having my fingers on the solo buttons. But I'm wondering the same thing. I'm guessing not, but EOF has no current way of making notes contained inside a solo event playable without strumming, then, just like in Rock Band? If not, that affects how difficult I plan on creating solos for people.

That doesn't stop other people. If the notes are close enough to each other, they can be HOPO notes, and you can hit many of them without having to strum. Of course, this takes practice.
