There's a document that describes how to use fret_color0= in the .ini files.
There's an example in the mod directory for RF-mod how to make the 5th fret orange
While you can get the rock band drums to connect to your computer, you still need to strum notes unless you are using hering mod and a song that's explicitly written as a drum track.
