how can i get the slide bar to work with fofix? i cant figure it out

No. There is.
Go to Options Menu -> Controls -> New Control(if you already have one, choose edit control) -> Choose Analog Slide Guitar as the type -> Map the keys by using your slider. Done.

holding 4th activates 5th
pressing 3rd - 4th begins clicking.
