Charting a song with a midi editor?
Is it possible to import a song to a midi editor and add notes (same thing that db and eof do)? Songs change tempot a lot and so without the song it wouldn't work very well. I have charts that I made a while ago and want to edit but FeedBack won't import the drum chart.
If you can link a post that explains that that would also be helpful, as I have not found one yet

It's good, although the problem with FL Studio is that it removes section names, which sucks

this is true, text events arn't supported in FLStudio, but they are in reaper if you like a big learning curve.

I'm pretty good with these, I just don't know how to this. Could you link a reaper charting tutorial?

there is none unfortunately.
although the general premise is the same.

I can't use EOF, I don't know why. I talked with NewCreature for a while and never fixed it. The charts I'm finishing are unfinished EOF charts
--- EDIT ---
I tried Reaper, it's OK but I can only keep it for 30 days. Anyone know a good midi editor to use?

Re: Charting a song with a midi editor?
Reaper would be the most complete MIDI editor to use for charting, but if you want to buy something and can't afford the $60 for Reaper, you might try buying Anvil Studio, which is really the only other actual MIDI editor I see mentioned on these boards. I haven't looked into it, but you might only have to buy one small addon for AS to unlock the capability of overlaying long audio files over the MIDI track (something the free version won't let you do).

Re: Charting a song with a midi editor?
I guess it could also be possible to use FL Studio to edit a drum chart (I've had Anvil, it's not that great on the eyes since piano roll doesn't scroll) and then use Anvil to combine the charts. I'm guessing that would keep the text events and other instruments intact supposing I had an original midi and the FL edited midi

I used that method for quite some time for midi lyric stuff, and then vocal charting... before i figured out reaper
now i use FL for guitar and bass, and reaper for vocals

Well like I said reaper is only for 30 days, so until I'm willing to get the full version I'll use the FL to Anvil Method

There aren't a lot of people nowadays that would honor the 30 day trial on software that doesn't cripple itself after an appointed amount of time.

I will go back to reaper, because I like it a lot, I'm just planning out what to do between the time when the trial ends and I go buy reaper itself.

I've had the same problem trying to import Midis into both EOF and Feedback. I dont see why they wont display on there.
