I have a song I downloaded from here. Scar tissue - RHCP and when I try to play it, as soon as I select the song I get a Connection lost error. Followed by list out of range error, and it goes back to the main menu. Im running Fofix v3.120 And this is the only song I have that this is happening to. Its funny because this song was working and still is because I reinstalled it to test, on frets on fire v1.3.110
So why wont it work on fofix?

Re: Connection lost
Just tried it. Still get the same error. It must have something to do with the song. But the same files work perfect on the older version. I tried downloading the same some from another source and it still wont play, It could have been the same files just from someone else tho. haha

Re: Connection lost
So I just found another song that works on a old version of fof but it wont work on fofix. I get the same conection lost error followed by the index list error.
I checked the log and this is what it says, Also I tried the other song again and the log had the same info as this one just with the name of the other song instead.

"MIDI Type identified as GH" Whats that mean? Is that the problem maybe? I checked the files and there all named properly, guitar.ogg notes.mid and song.ini
I wish these songs would work with fofix, what can I do to fix this?

Re: Connection lost
If you get something like this-Traceback (most recent call last):
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 346, in run
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 336, in main
File "Engine.pyo", line 139, in run
File "Engine.pyo", line 130, in _runTask
File "Input.pyo", line 190, in run
File "Input.pyo", line 141, in broadcastEvent
File "Menu.pyo", line 124, in keyPressed
IndexError: list index out of range
Then it's most likely that you either have empty folders in your fretsonfire songs folder, charactes that it doesn't like being used, or corrupted song.ini files.
To solve this problem, see here- http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/list-index-out-of-range

Re: Connection lost
This isnt happening on startup. I can play all my other songs, Its just when I do to play these 2 specific songs. Ive checked the songs folders and the files are there, they are named properly and ive also tried replacing the song.ini file.
These songs work fine on the older version I had also they just wont work on fofix v3.120
I did read that before also but I could find anything to fix the problem. I did try some things first, like the suggested song.ini file may be corrupt so I created a new one.
---- EDIT ----
Well I figured that the problem is with the notes.mid file. With the last song. I treid replacing it with a notes.mid files from another song and the song started up no problem. The notes were from another song so they didnt match oviously but the song started.
Before trying this all I could see was the name of the song on the list and when I picked it, it wouldnt take me to the screen to pick a difficulty. It would send me to the main menu afte getting thos error msg. But the song will work find on the old version of fof. What gves?

Re: Connection lost
I had an idea so I gave it a shot. I edited the mid file, in the old FOF version I have. I just deleted some notes so I could save it. The first minute of the song is just sound effects not guitar but the fretter fretted them as guitar. So I deleted all the notes in the first minute and saved it. Tried it in fofix and it works prefect now :)
I'll have to try editing the first song I was having troubles with and see if that fixes it to.

Re: Connection lost
Odd. Perhaps the song had a minor error in it... One that caused an error in FoFiX, but not the older FoF. Opening it in an editor and saving it somehow removed the error. Maybe.
