scratchy sound - like little skips in audio

like, i figured out the sound buffer thing by doing system restore and using the 1.2.4XX version instead of 1.2.5XXX.

but now the audio has a crackling effect type thing that is annoying. and the song is off from the notes a bit.

yes.
Having too large of a buffer size makes the A/V delay virtually greater.

And setting it too low will result in the popping you speak of.

I have come to find out that mine was result of memory being to low (verdict: Norton internet security.)
