Really need some guiding here!

Postby Guitarheromaniac » Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:38 am

Hey guys! Well i am new to this all mods and FoF thing and i need some serious help. First i download Frets on Fire from the official site, is it the latest version and the version i need? Then, i download rockband 2 mod, the alarian thing i think, and it didnt work. I extracted it to the Data folder in the FoF folder when i went to the games to the mods section it wasnt there. Anyone can explain how can i get it working ? I read the tutorial and it said something about a THEME folder, but i cant find it. Help please!

First I would recommend this mod http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/fofix

Anyway, when you download the mod/theme you should extract it into a "themes" folder, which should be located in the Data folder. Then go to options, go to Change Theme, and select which one, then go to "apply settings". Anyway, I know the themes folder comes with the mod i linked above, so I recommend you downloading that version. If its still not there, I think you can create a "themes" folder inside the data folder, then put all of your mods/themes in there, but don't quote me on that.

Going For ? FC- Afterlife (FOF) after I can get my guitar to connect, then probably all of GH1 (FOF).

Ok i downloaded FoFix 3.100 and the latest patch. I downloaded the Rock Band 2 mod and extracted it to the themes folder (is it good so far?) But then it asks me for a new song directory and i dont know what to do. Do i have the songs or do i have to download them? Cheers

Yes you have to download songs. The Song Database can be found here http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/custom-songs

Once you download that extract it to your songs folder, but if you songs folder isnt there, create a new folder, and name it songs. Then extract all of your songs to that folder.

You don't need every single song. You just need one. Other than that it sounds like you're on the right track.
