ok this is a double post question.. i have a wireless ps2 guitar hero guitar... i was wondering.. since it has a usb port.. do i need to use the adapter.. like can the usb cord just plug into the computer.. and another thing.. all these programs people are saying to use.. can soemone send me a link of their prefered program and tell me how to use it?

for your first question:
The USB is for charging the batteries in the guitar only, not meant for PC compatibility.
So, you need the adapter, but I dont have a link for it. Maybe someone has one...just use the search button, I'm pretty sure there is a thread about this.
