There is an odd crackly noise when I try to play, it was fine the last time I played. I was talking to my friend and he thought it was the buffer size. That helped with the crackly noise but there's a mad, about 1.5 second, delay reeking havoc on my game. The lowest buffer size that is clear (without crackle) is 16384. Anyone know what I should do? I also did a fresh install of FoF. Running Windows XP, if that helps.

when you did a 'fresh install' of FOF, did you also delete your 'fretsonfire.ini' file that gets created in your c:\documents & settings folder ?
If you didnt, you may be using some of the same settings you were using before you did a 'fresh install'.

After installing new sound card drivers for my sound blaster audigy I started getting crackly noises.. they are indeed very annoying! Increasing the buffer size does help, but once in a while notes get out of sync. I rolled back to the previous set of drivers I was using and everything is back to normal. I suggest anyone having similar problems to try it.
