Seriously, I don't see how this is so bloody difficult, especially since it's covered (I thought) in the readme of the game...
1.) Open up a web browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox et al)
2.) Search the web for FOF tracks (using a search engine like Google)
3.) Follow the links, find yer particular song, and download the ruddy thing.
4.) Using some type of ZIP/RAR unpacker, unpack the folder of the song.
a.) if it doesn't come in a folder, then make the blasted thing
**yes, you'll have to let go of the mouse at one point.
b.) unpack the folder of the song into the song folder of Frets on Fire
==> C:\Program Files\Frets on Fire\data\songs\ <== usually...
5.) With the folder in the appropriate directory, open Frets on Fire.
**if this post, combined with all the others that explain more than I would don't help you, then I don't know what to tell you. A small amount of technical know-how is needed (granted), but c'mon people... it's 2007, the internet's been around for SEVERAL years, and if yer here, you should know how to do something technical by now... ???

hey, never had a problem with that before...
but I downloaded a few songs yesterday, and did the usual...but this time they dont show in my FoF.
It's all in the right folders, the same way I always do it...but for some reason they just dont appear in-game...
anyone have a clue?
EDIT:
I'm so sorry, I just had to edit the .ini file and it showed up...

Sigs are as useless as this statement.

Q: How do I add songs into FoF?
A: Download a track, this will usually be in *.rar format
Extract the *.rar file, and almost always, the files song.ogg, guitar.ogg, song.ini and notes.mid will be in a folder. If this is not the case then put them in a folder.
Place this folder inside the FretsOnFire/data/songs/ folder and your song will now appear in your song list.

Q: How do I extract folders in .zip or .rar format?
A: A good program to extract those files is winrar which you can find here
http://www.win-rar.com/
