If it's a WMA file, then it will squeak, convert it to an MP3 then it should work...

if it's a mp3 you need LAME MP3 for import

Not everyone that views this topic will be able to help you! I'm trying to figure out what you're trying to do... the original file is mp3, wma or ogg? For converting I use blaze media pro, but it's not a free program. I just got it today from usenet.

you could allways try NOT using audacity, there are hundreds of audio converters out there, most of them free. A prime example WINAMP the music player. it has a disk writer plugin that lets you convert wma/mp3/ogg/wav to wma/mp3/ogg/wav. NERO the cd burning program has an audio converter in it. There are loads of programs that can convert audio, some of them you wouldnt expect to be able to do it but they can. Im sure windows media player can convert between wma/mp3 and wav, coz it has the CD ripping & burning built into it. Try converting to wav then loading that into audacity, wav is the universal sound format so anything should be able to handle wavs.
