Nyko Frontman Guitar for PS3 - Will it work with FOF?

Hi,

I am planning to buy a guitar for FOF.
I had a look at the Nyko Frontman guitar for the PS3

I've looked around for comments about this guitar and if it's possible to connect it to the PC and make it work. But I couldn't find any clear answers.

So I'm asking you guys, does anyone have experience with using this guitar for FOF or do you think it'll work?

btw. The guitar does come with a USB dongle

I never used this specific guitar controller, but if it's connecting through USB, there's no reason it would not work. Usually usb guitars will be "plug-and-play", meaning you only have to plug it in and see if it's detected right away in windows' controllers setup. If so, you only need to assign the keys in FretsOnFire's settings (if you have double strumming issue, search the forums for fixes)
Someone posted yesterday, having problems with the guitar, but he didn't mention what console it is for. But really, I've never seen a guitar controller that doesn't work yet.

I just read the FAQ on the guitar in the support section of the Nyko site. And it says this:

Can I use the FrontMan on other USB devices such as the Xbox 360 or a PC?
Answer:
No. The FrontMan for PlayStation 3 is designed exclusively for use on the PlayStation 3 console.

Should I believe this?
I don't expect a PC to not recognize such a device

That post is wrong, im using the PS3 guitar supplied with the game on my PC and works perfectly, the only major problem i have with it is the tilt for SP doesnt want to work, but otherwise its perfect.

(we are talking about the wireless one arnt we :p)

after reading the faq on the site u linked it really contridicts itself entirely, one it states the controller is exclusive for the ps3, now as I've read down it also quotes that, its usuable with the ps2 versions, now i dnt know if its to be played through the ps3 or not, but after logical thinking, why would a person who owns a ps3 get the ps2 version of a game... so a good guess would be it will work fine with the PC, mainly because a computer can recognize near enough any USB device, its a rare case that it doesnt.

hey ya'll. just got PS3 frontman wireless guitar yesterday. thus far all works well with the exception of the tilt sensor. That and i have noticed a slight delay when strumming through a particularly fast song. Anyone know if Xpadder will fix the tilt issue? From what i have rad after searching all over is that no delay with Xpadder and that it maps the controller real good. WinXp sees the controller, and you can calibrate, but as previously stated, no axis I also have a 360 usb controller that I got with GH:A and GHIII. works like a dream, tilt and all. (been shredding evrything i get my eyeballs glued to). If anyone could post one back on this I'd appreciate it (xpadder helping winxp to find the z-axis, tilt).

I have the same problem with my les paul (GH3) for ps3.
Everything is working fine beside the tilt sensor!
Is here really noone with a solution to this (little) problem?
