First of all unzip the file to a temporary folder, then go into control panel and select system. Once that has been done go into device manager and look for any yellow or red exclamation marks. If there are any use the update drivers function by right clicking the file, and choosing update driver. Once that has been done click 'no' for update through the internet, then click install from a list or specific location. Note that from each of these steps you would click on 'next' to get to the next step. Ok, back to the installation: click don't search, I will choose the driver to install. When the hardware update wizard comes up choose 'have disk'. Ok, now is the time to point the wizard to the files that you have created in the temporary folder. The filename inside the folder called 'Xbox360 Driver (Guitar Hero 2 driver)' , all you have to do is click on the file called 'xnacc.inf'. That should work to install your xbox or PC Guitar Hero Guitar on your system.
To get the file for USB on PC, give me an email and I will send the file to you....

exactly what file are we supposed to unzip ??? you failed to tell us that part! Or where to get it from!!!
And that is the long ass way of doing it! instead of downloading this mystery file your not telling us about, then saying no to the internet driver download.
If you had just plugged in the guitar and then said yes to the internet driver download, thats all you need to do!! job finished.
It really is just plug n play! you dont have to do and get anything or unzip anything just plug in the guitar, say YES to the driver update and its done! BTW this has been the known method since GH2 came out on the x360. Good try but just not close enough, sorry.
BTW if your using VISTA you dont even need to do that. as the x360 drivers are allready built into vista, you just plug in the guitar. thats it, nothing else just plug it in!

Ok, the file is available from [email protected], I can send it out, and not all PCs will recognise or offer a choice to download from the Internet. Sure the Internet will give you the drivers, but some users will have troubles with the driver update.
I found out that if you update everything from Microsoft it will install correctly.....

That's just wrong, sorry.
Of course it's misleading at the beginning when he talks about a file we don't know, but in the end he comes back to it and tells us tht he can send it to us and that he is talking about the usb driver for the guitar.
What you are saying might work for some people, but not everyone has vista and this is a good alternative, if the driver can't be found when installing the device, which happens in 99% of the cases by the way.
So this is acutally very useful.

Yes, just configure the controller in the key settings of FoF, Vista has built in xbox360 controller drivers.

Ahhhhh i see your mistake.. You thik im some kid that has no idea what hes talking about!! Sorry thats not true. Ive been helping in tech support ( including getting guitars to work) for over a year now!
Ill try to answer al the points you raised, but im getting kinda bored allready

Yes he could send us the file, but why do it via email?( who wants god knows how many random people emailing you asking for a file, that you have to send to each person indevidually) why not just upload the file somewhere and post the link ( that would be a lot easier)
I wasnt saying everybody has vista in fact i didnt mention vista till right at the end, everything before that was referring to XP and NO 99% of the case cant find the drivers is complete horse crap! its more like 99% of the people get it working jus fine and its the odd 1 or 2 % that have trouble with the drivers. Besides if you cant get the drivers on auto install, just go to the MS website and DL the xbox controller drivers. A quick search on MS for "XBOX drivers" Will give you the result your looking for. Then theres none of this " have disk" nonsense with the auto install, you just install the drivers file you DL then plug in the guitar and the PC will know what it is right away!
