team style chartoffs

alright... after lightly checking the forum games, i decided to try and introduce one myself, however, it would be slightly more helpful to the community...

basic concept
- essentially, i'm going to try and split 8 people into two groups of four, and via a community fueled list of requests, each team will accept the challenge of fretting a song that will essentially do battle with the other team's song... idealy i'd like to have the songs be the same, but depending on reception of the idea, it may be possible that two entirely different songs be used to go up against each other... essentially, you want to do better than the other team..

now, i'm sure you may be wondering, "why would i need a team?" well, the concept is, to have the best chart... well this can better be achieved by multiple people working on a single song, reviewing, changing things, making suggestions, etc. with a team of four people, there is also the possibility of multiple instruments being made (pending agreement by both teams) and the end result should be a high quality chart...

the winning will be handled as such...
first, grading period
second, winners announced
third, winners get to hold the glory of being the winning team of the month...

here's the deal with teams... losing team gets kicked, winning team stays... teams must be signed up ahead of time, and thus there should be a queue of challenging teams ready to file in per each month...

reviews will be given by the general community, and those of realistic merit and effort put into them will be used to consider the winning team...

let's see what you guys think of this, and i'll organize the rules better after a little discussion...

Cool, kinda like Chart Battles, but I feel that projects that require heavy communication and dedication don't really work well. Forum games work better when the maximum requirement for participation is posting.

So do you get to choose your team? I mean theres not a ton of charters here...I feel that four people could dominate this as a team unless they got lazy one time or people didn't want them there anymore. I don't see that there would be eight active people at any given time to communicate all that much either. But I like the idea within itself.

yeah i wouldnt play this, cause i dont really chart or play fof, so not fun for me. I have found out like aander said that a communicating offline game it is not easy to get people who really try and make it happen.

well, due to communication beng lacking, that's the main reason for an entire month as a song entry period... i would think there's a possibility in getting four people to collaborate for enough time to get just one chart made, edited, revised, and finalized within an entire month... if not, i may consider altering this to more of a one man king of the hill, where each week, there's a battle, and people line up to do battle, and i'll keep a nice organized post of who the weekly hill winner is... we'll see if anyone would be interested in either concept...

It really should. We already have chart competitions, the only difference is that this is in teams.
Honestly, Making charts is a LOT of work. Making a proper quality chart can take days, weeks, months. Depending on the person.
And, If you've already seen that the game about editing pictures in paint failed... what makes you think this could actually work?

alright... fine.. you guys win... we'll have a forum without any togetherness or cool things due to laziness...
