GH "Style" Notes For Phase Shift

Postby kamakazikilla » Fri Feb 25, 2011 9:47 pm

Well, i've wracked my brain and had a heck of a time working through the process, but i finally know how to create custom notes.
They are GH "style". This basically means they LOOK like guitar hero notes, but are not exact replicas or the sort. They are just my custom made rendition of them. I'll probably post screenshots sometime, but i'm lazy now, so just download them =]

NOTE: these are only compatible with guitar (for right now) and everything else should look like PS notes (including the slider notes)

please comment and enjoy.

DIRECTIONS: In order to make the notes work, place the two folders (notes/tails) in the DATA folder in Phase Shift and remove the old ones (i suggest you back them up/place them elsewhere before you introduce the new folders so you can switch back if you'd like)

note: you may notice that my previous screenshots in the PS thread had brighter/more vibrant colors... after testing, it became apparent that too bright of colors was straining on your eyes, so they were slightly toned down for convenience =]

I've personally already seen the notes, but you should post a screenshot of the notes so people can see what they look like =P

I just played a few songs with these notes and they are AWESOME! But whenever I use starpower I can hardly see the green notes...is there a way to change the brightness of the starpower or something? But the notes are great nonetheless. I might make a video of me playing with the notes that you can add to the thread so people can see them in action =P

that would be cool, and yes, you can tone down the star-power brightness...
*folder with phase shift in it*>Data>Board

from here, you'll want to alter both the "Neck_PS" file to your liking as this is where most of the glareish stuff comes from (you can change this to whatever you want to cover the original neck). and also you should change the "Lane_PS" to be the same as "Lane_Normal" to cut some glare... that should take care of the glare... i suggest a slight color change on the neck durring star power usage for best results, but use a dark color

I discovered that song a few years ago and I've loved it since :D. It's in tier 3 of my Stallion Hero so you'll be able to download it when I finish the tier =]

I downloaded the notes and tails and replaced them with the old ones in the data folder just like the instructions says, but when I go to play a song phase shift crashes with an error report. I have version 0.92 if that makes any difference.

yes, the newer version of PS uses a different name for the files, so they need to be renamed... i suggest switching the names of the guitar notes and the normal notes.. also, this shouldn't cause a game crash... so that seems to be unrelated

i did that, all you do is swap the names for the guitar notes, and the standard ones... problem solved

what do you mean swap the names? like rename the "notes" and "tails" folder or what?

I just tried it again and now it doesn't do anything. The original phase shift notes are used in the game.
