I can understand that, but there isn't really anything that can be done to stop it. If it keeps coming up, people must want to talk about it.

Belisario93 wrote:aander, while normally I would agree with you, in this case it's almost always the same discussion. If they were arguing over new things, such as pro mode in RB or the new gameplay mode in GH:WoR, then I would have kept quiet. However, just about every thread involving GH and/or RB ends up with either the overchart/underchart discussion, the wide hit window discussion, or the discussion about drum sets, among others. They have been discussed to the point where everyone already knows what everyone else's opinion is on it, and almost the same exact points and arguments are being brought up every time. So basically, these discussions are doing nothing. They're old, yet they keep being brought up. It's useless clutter, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was being done to boost post counts. I don't mind a debate, but when it's the same debate that's been going on for years, it starts to get old.

The games keep changing, so the facts will keep changing. The thought that no one here will ever change their opinion is ridiculous. If you were on the official GH forums, maybe you have a point, but we're on a neutral forum that has little if no overall preference for either game. It's not the same debate because the games keep changing. Simple.

This forum consists of almost ALL die hard players or at least people have more knowledge about charting than your average Mom. Basically everyone here knows and overchart when they see one, and WE are having the discussion. It's fine to acknowledge that there are others who don't know as much about the game as we do, but to ask why we are debating the finer points of the game is just stupid.

Look at it this way. You go to a forum where two hobbyist engineers are debating on whether or not something should be on a plane design. You have no idea what they are talking about, but you can tell it's getting heated.

You go in and say, "Hey, nobody but an engineer is going to know what's there, so who cares?"

The both pause, look at you disgustedly and continue on.

Tl;dr: This is a rhythm game forum and the users have advanced knowledge of the subject. Let them discuss THAT, rather than the basics.

I like this analogy as well, because when the plane design is actually used, the people riding the plane WILL feel the awkwardness in it's flight or what have you, even if they don't understand why, etc. To say "they're just having fun" is a somewhat outlandish assumption.

WOW, just WOW

You go on like everyone shares your opinion, then say that we are on a nuetral forum. HOW IN THE HELL are we on a neutral forum if everyone shares your opinion on GH.

I agree with Aander's anaolgy to an extent, but why do we play these games. I'll tell you why, it's to have fun. What i learned from a buddy while playing BFBC2 " If you are not having fun, you wont get any kills. Just have fun, and dont worry about it." (tho killing doesnt apply here, but you see my point)

BAH, im not arguing anymore, i pretty much know you guys will turn it around on me

if no one here likes GH then why are there so many GH themes? just because one side might be more vocal doesn't mean it's bigger.

bad charts =/= fun

GH:WoR's setlist is so badass in comparison to RB's IMO, but ugh.... I just don't know about GH anymore :\.

As for RB, I really only like one song (that's officially) on there, and pro instruments are just going to be too expensive, so there isn't any other real reason for me to get RB. I might as well just play the guitar I have now, and play FoFiX on my off time like I do now.

T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

hopefully the DLC/RBN will make up for the lack of metal. I mean so far we've had some amazing power metal on RBN.

also there is still like 30-40 more tracks to be announced so we got a ways to go

I'll tell you what GH needs to do. Drop everything you have seen in the last few games and go back to basic gameplay and start over. You know how many people I've heard say GH2 was the best one yet? I know they won't do it but if they want a fan base back...Not saying that its declinded HUGEly but you get my point. Most people who still play the game play guitar because they don't have the money to go out and buy the other instruments, or can't afford to. I'll be honest, GH3 overcharts made me better. I played GHM and I thought it was easy as hell, even though I like the wide hit window. Then I played RB and was like holy cow this is and easy song but I'm missing notes because of the hit window. That made me even better. To be honest, I play both games about the same.

Huh

I get quoted as a GH fanboy and i dont even see the point to this post. Most people play the GH games cause they are part of its ORIGINAL fan base. Why do you think the Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong games survived, it is because of thier original fan base.
