The menu music you speak of is really any random song in the song list. Why not just use any random preview.ogg(no need to cache the full tracks of any song[if it does this]), with an option to start a new preview.ogg(anytime, with the yellow guitar button or w/e) while in the song select list.

And when people start making there own theme's for this game, they should have an option to make there only main_menu_song.ogg

Well the size of the file isn't a problem when loading them as they streamed and not cached. You can skip the current song from the main menu but the trouble is that in the song menu we don't have any free buttons to use. Yellow Is used for UP but I'll look into the dropping of the audio in the song menu and playing the preview of the selected song. But this will effect the performace if it's having to load them up. Might have to have it on a delay so that it only plays the preview when you've highlighted the song for 2 seconds or something.

It can already be done with straight midi, but that's not really convenient or even really that easy. I hope to see lots of Guitar/dance charts pop up in the future when EOF gets dance implementation.

I might actually find a relatively easy guitar song to do this with.
But then I have to buy a 30 dollar pad to go with it as well lol.

I'd just like to report a bug I'm noticing with a particular song. I'm playing the RB3 version of Through the Fire and Flames on the 7 lane drum chart and have noticed that on some occasions the game will output a tom note when it should be a cymbal note. I've checked the chart in EOF and all the proper cymbal notes are charted. For some reason though the game plays some of these cymbal notes as tom notes, causing a lot of confusion when actually trying to play. This happens consistently (always the same cymbal note that is displayed as a tom).

If there's anything I can do to help debug this let me know.

Sounds like an EOF problem if it's fine before it's edited. If you send me the edited file I'll take a look at it. Also if you can let me know the Note ID of a problem note. This is done by enabling Draw Note ID in Phase Shift. Saves me checking the whole song.

I believe I saw this issue in the eof thread, and if i remember correctly eof b4 fixed it

Somebody ran across this because during editing, some of the drum notes no longer lined up with the notes in another difficulty that were marked as cymbals. Some details of that are here:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50698&start=135#p581268

In that case, it was not a bug with EOF, re-snapping may resolve the charting problem. Otherwise, I'll need a copy of the affected MIDI and preferably information about specifically which notes were not given as cymbals.

but in regards to the version checker, I pressed green when it notified me, and it send me to the phase shift website with the download link there, maybe you have some type of firewall? o.o
