What song was it? Links broke.
How on Earth do you play an open bass sustained note? I'm assuming you just strum and it continues...
Someone really needs to make a list on what new features are in both games.

RB3,
Keyboards, party play (drop in, drop out mechanics)
- Pro mode
Im not counting harmonies because they are in TBRB and RBGD
GHWoR
Star Challanges for all songs - more speciffically 13 challenges per song, new and old
- ghost notes
- open bass note
THat is all

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
You forgot trills and tremolo sections, drum rolls, bass solos, individual song ratings and some other stuff. And RB3 comes with trainers for all the pro instruments, which by itself is pretty significant. There's also double bass support, pitch-correction vocals, drum rolls and cymbal washes...
"star challenges" are a terrible idea. How are the scores supposed to be objective?
and both games have always charted ghost notes (at least when they felt like it) and GH:M and GH5 had open bass notes so those really aren't new features

oh damn, i put open bass note, i mean the sustains, haha (the open note was in GHWT aswell)
Bass solos were needed in RB. Like how the hell can you have a game, that supports drum and guitar sols, but not bass solos. its madness i tell you.
Star Challanges are not a "terrible" idea.
1.) these games need replay value (RB done it through the implementation of Pro mode and Keys)
2.) it adds a extra something to the songs
3.) It gives you a reason to play your old DLC.

@ aduro
Open bass was introduced in GHWT, as amak said.
@ amak
What are harmonies again? I don't own either GHGD or TBRB so I don't know what they are.

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
Harmonies are where you can have multiple mics plugged in for people like the guitarist and drummer to sing along in parts that have like a chorus in the background.
Oh, and what are ghost notes? I hear people talking about how like the drums have ghost notes or something in RB3 now?

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
RB usually charts ghost notes unless they get too insane. they're really inconvenient to play on the RB1 kit since there's so little rebound. I don't know if they are going to be notated specifically in RB3, probably not

Oh..wow.
You know what...
I like this.
ESPECIALLY the re-recording.
Assuming you can make the people not look so..ridiculous, this will be great.

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
apparently, you can't.
and that rerecording is awful.
it's only parts 1-2 that are rerecorded though, so we can still rechart the majority of it.
i mean wow, the charts are just getting worse and worse.
they have no clue how to use hopo chords, chord progression, what pitch is etc, and the drum system is just so retarded and broken in every single way.

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
What? The guitar part was an improvement, I was impressed for the most part. The drums...I don't know. They clearly don't know how to chart ghost notes (finale) and I thought I saw a couple extra bass hits here and there, but it looked decent by GH standards. The only major gripe with that is the lack of lanes for me.

Ugh. They took out the cool echo effect at the beginning that the original has D: other than that sounds alright. I like the original better, though.

Tho personally, i havent watched this video. Are you implying that we (the ones who do not have masters) can chart it better? Btw, GUITAR HERO IS NOT ROCK BAND. Like jeeze, its like saying you personally know how the overlapping sustains work and the rules to charting them properly
Also im not watching any GH video until i have my copy of the game

Re: Rock Band 3, or GH:Warriors of Rock?
wow that is the most abysmal abuse of 3 note chords I've seen since GH3 bonus songs
and yes amak. it doesn't matter if you have the masters or not if you have no concept of music theory
WOW solo in part 4 is awful
SO AWFUL
