Re: The Offical Rock Band 3 Thread (Rumored songs added)
News about the squire.
Won't be console specific, and will require the midi adapter.
They want to keep processing time down to a minimum so that lag does not become a problem.
This is good! We don't need any extra adapters to plug the squire into our computers for fofix =P

Re: The Offical Rock Band 3 Thread (Rumored songs added)
It makes perfect sense that they wouldn't make the Squier console-specific, just too bad that it seems it will be almost December before the MIDI adapter is out. Since I won't buy the RB3 keyboard until I know whether I can get mine to work, that means no keys for me until then..

That midi pro stuff is pretty cool. It is too bad that it will only come out after the game does but that way you know it won't be a rushed POS that breaks.

Wow, I didn't think scratch chords were going to be possible. That chord shape system seems kind of confusing, but at least they added a modifier that shows the rest of the numbers in the chord.

I'd like to see how the system works on chords that aren't clearly E or A shape power chords
I assume bends are charted correctly, but I don't think the guitar controllers can recognize them. As long as they don't do anything stupid like not notate them at all or force you to play the enharmonic note I'm fine with that

Re: The Offical Rock Band 3 Thread (Rumored songs added)
I saw today in the RB2 Dio DLC they are starting to chart vibrato. If I recall correctly that was never done before in songs. I wonder if they did so in RB3...I mean they aren't hard to play it's just really annoying and I think it makes the chart unprofessional. That's just my opinion though.

I think when they tabbed the songs for Pro Guitar that they contected the original guitar player (excluding Crazy Train. They may have contacted Zakk Wylde) and had the artist tell HMX how to tab the song they were going to add to the game. Basically what I'm saying is that when they tabbed Rainbow in the Dark for Pro Guitar, they contacted Vivian Campbell and had Vivian tell them (or tabbed the song out) for them. I highly doubt HMX knows how to play every song in RB3 perfect on a guitar.

Because it must be impossible for whoever owns distribution rights to the music (ie. record labels) to have the actual sheet music in addition to the recordings. Yes, that was sarcasm.

yeah crosstown traffic is gonna be great
no, they have isolated guitar and they get really good experienced musicians then they tab it
Re: The Offical Rock Band 3 Thread (Rumored songs added)
Yeah they have a dedicated team of people at Harmonix who make the pro guitar charts. I'm confident they'll be able to chart out all the right notes, but with 83 songs and DLC every week I'm sure some parts are going to end up charted ridiculously

From what I've heard it's just going to be that pro-guitar dlc will be more expensive. I dunno exactly what that means for DLC but I think at the very least it means you'll be getting what you pay for, which will be more at the same high level of quality

We'll probly get less charts per week (excluding what RBN provides)

Re: The Offical Rock Band 3 Thread (Rumored songs added)
Less charts but don't forget they still need to make stuff for RB2. I personally think they will do less charts, however they have 2 downloads. The game you play on is the download you get, meaning RB2 would have everything but pro-instruments and RB2 users would download that, and RB3 users will have the same content with the pro instruments added in.

They previously said that all DLC from RB3 on will require you to have RB3. If that's still the case, there will no longer be new RB2-compatible DLC that is released.

In what world will this work, it is not good business practice to still develop content for a older game in the series. Once RB3 is out, all DLC will be RB3 only.
