This last week has been a wounderful experience and massive... I'm talking massive improvements to the game have been completed. With that being said, I am going to release another beta today. this is beta 1.9.107 yeah that's alot of numbers, but alot of changes have taken place. and next to beta 1.8.32 this is a completely different game.
Now for the changelog.
Chartloader has been fixed, optimized, and is ready for loading Bass, and Drum charts from the file.
Chartloader now creates proper Hopo code.
A Beat Marker system is now in place, completely working, with the ability to use multiple BPM changes throughout the song.
Faded Fretboards.
Faded Fretboard Layers.
Working sustains (98% complete) - tends to cut off if you lift your hands from the note when switching to the next note. This includes proper length, and placements.
Track cutoffs (Sound cutoff for Guitar track if available)
Improved hit window detection
Scoring Limited to Notes Hit, and Streak.
Fretboard Speed Changes with Difficultiy with Hyperspeed enabled code (For expert only)
Backgrounds
Mostly everything graphics wise is modable (does not include engine logo, or game logo)
HUD displays Time left of song.
New RF Logo
Random Fretboard Choosing
Menu Sounds
Changed Layout of Folders for the game, to a theme based Folder Style. Removed the Libraries folder, and placed all essential libraries in the root game folder.
Removed unneeded code from the game.
Added small RF icon
Fixed Vsync while in Fullscreen Mode.
Multiplayer has been stripped, getting ready for Online Support, needed to improve the Setup.
The escape from song ability has been stripped from the game as well, we found that the game would hang for along time with the new code in place, so we opted to strip it from the game for the time being.
_______________________________________________________
Rockfan's Gameplay Scene has been completely re-written to optimize the play experience, without loosing too much performance. With Vsync enabled, the game runs even more smoothly, and Processor useage while using VSync has dropped to less than 25%.
Because we've been hearing that people are having problems with RF, and it ultimately comes down to "Did you install the pre-reqs?" We have created an installer for you guys. It will detect if you need any of the pre-reqs, and install them if you do. This does not apply to the Xna 3.1 redis, because it will always try to install that. If you already have it installed, you can cancel that portion of the installation, and it will continue as normal. A problem we've noticed with the installer happens to be that it does not create a desktop or start menu shortcut. So if you Check where you installed the program
{rootdirectory}\programfiles\ROCKFAN Beta
and create a desktop shortcut by right clicking and dragging the Rockfan.exe file to the location you want your shortcut and choosing "create shortcut."
The Updated File has been added to the first Post....
