I know a lot of you don't care much for classical music, but I think that the Kodàly cello sonata is very technically demanding. The short excerpt above might not look very difficult, but is actually very difficult on cello.
It requires a really weird hand position and also you have to be able to press the strings with your index, middle, and ring fingers and strum chords with your pinky (and at the same time, playing a note with the bow). And because a normal human's pinky is connected to the ring finger via a ligament, attempting to play this part kinda hurts.
Also if your humming the excerpt in your head and wondering why it sounds weird, it's because there's a scordatura.
yes, as for technicallity classical music will always own the whole thing and sh.its into the face :) I know pretty much well.
And to be proud, Kodály was Hungarian just like me so thank you to mention him. :)
However, as I earlier said, we should stay at "light music", metal genre inside.

Note how they're seemingly playing out of time at the end of the video and Gene is just ripping his kit apart.
Another prime example of jazz technicality in the form of a REAL drum battle
Hm that was awesome!
I'm always keen on listening to great drum solos but modern drummers just can't improvise good solos. They form a perfect member of a great band and they are amazingly skilled like some death metal drummers, Mike Portnoy, Mike Mangini.
But to be honest I've heard solos by the last two and... Some parts are good and some are horrible, hitting random drums as fast as it can be done but... This jazz drum "battle" was.. simply excellent! And still remained a good tasty music!
