Re: Map of Metal
Neat, I sent that to a buddy of mine yesterday.
Loving the fact that I'm The Man is in RapMetal and that they used The Mechanix over The Four Horsemen in the Thrash section
Not liking how far away Groove is from Thrash.

Like I said.
Still can't figure out why people like Horsemen over Mechanix.

Re: Map of Metal
I thought that was kinda awesome. I had heard of Blood Stained Child before but I guess I never listened to them because I can't say that I've ever heard THAT.
Grindcore is throwing me off though. I always thought that it was primarily defined by shrieks, higher registry guitar wankery, and most importantly, atonality. It seems like all the songs they used fro grindcore had a pretty apparent melody, even the Anal C*nt song, which is really what I was basing my definition off of. I mean, Anal C*nt's "You're Gay" has no melody at all and he's just screaming over nonsense instrumentals.

Since when does Queen belong in Death Metal?

It's Not?
Jama, I think you clicked something with Queen then went over to Death Metal and forgot.

There are different extremes of grindcore. What most people hear is the more extreme stuff and then just say no, the stuff with melody doesn't get a chance very often. Some grindcore can be really cool (IE Cephalic Carnage, Rise Above and no one else (jk))
