Have you ever wondered...
Have any of you guys ever wondered what it feels like to be dead? I've always believed it was like when you are sleeping. You can't hear, see, or feel anything. Share your thoughts.
Re: Have you ever wondered...
Dammit, I know I shouldn't post here, and I should just let this thread die before it starts, but eff it.
You don't feel anything, you're dead. You simply cease to exist, that's the extent of it. People like to think different things of it to try and rationalize death, but there's just nothingness. The human mind simply isn't complex enough to comprehend this.

How I feel about it;
Life, in the absolute meaning, ends when you die. No heaven, no hell, just pitch black darkness (scar symmetry fck yeah), as a dreamless sleep.

Re: Have you ever wondered...
So basically all your saying is what I said in a variation. I always believed that you go nowhere, such as heaven or hell, it's like your in that sleep I was saying. It happens to everyone, so I'm assuming thats what it would "feel" like in a sense.
I've always wondered this too. What if what you think happens, actually happens? Meaning like, if one person believes that he/she will go to heaven, they do. But another person thinks that its just black nothingness, that's what happens to them. It sounds wierd but know one really knows until it happens.

Re: Have you ever wondered...
Your body and mind cannot perceive feeling when they no longer function, it will not be like sleeping.
Re: Have you ever wondered...
I imagine it's just the black nothingness that everyone else is saying, although I hope that reincarnation is true, even though it doesn't make sense.

Impossible. You are dead. The brain isn't working.
No imagined fairy-tales for you.

I mean like it will act as if your sleeping except your body isn't functioning.
What I'm trying to say is thats what it would look like and feel like. Not being able to see, hear or feel anything.

But that's just it -- what you see, feel, hear, taste, and smell are all senses perceived by you and your brain.
With you dead, that perception is gone, therefore, there is nothing to sense.
You can try and think as abstract as you want about it, but at the end of the day, there is literally nothing to imagine.

What does? The though that I posted this, or the things people are saying here?

Re: Have you ever wondered...
When you die, your brain stops functioning. Thus, you can't imagine how it is to die, because your brain has never stopped functioning, and even if theoretically it did, you would not know it since the brain hadn't experienced it in the first place (since it was not functioning). So, don't even try to imagine it because you can't. Being asleep is not a good comparison because the brain registers a lot of activity during sleep, and you are experiencing things. Even if you do not realize or remember it, your brain does.
