Ok, my NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE nForce 430 is going about to die. I need some info.
Before I go taking my PC apart, is my current card a plug-in or built right into the motherboard?
Which is the best NVIDIA GFX card that I can buy, that is a plug-in or motherboard?
Thanks.

It's an on-board graphics card.
And I'm not sure you can replace it. If your PC has a seperate slot for a GFX card, then maybe you can buy another one and try it. I'm not really an expert on this though
EDIT: Also, HOW THE HELL are you playing games with that? 475mhz, and 64mb on dedicated graphics memory...
Sig disabled. ~nwru

All but the crappiest computers will have an AGP or PCI Express slot allowing you to install a video card. Generally, the onboard video will be disabled when the video card is installed, but the BIOS may allow you to specify it to force use of the onboard, so go into the BIOS settings and make sure it tries to use AGP or PCI Express card if it's available.

So what's your price range and what does your motherboard accept. Also what's your processor since you don't want to get something too powerful and have it bottleneck, causing more issues lol. If you have 400 bucks, you can build a great PC. I'll assemble a parts list and everything.

Bro just get a Fermi and you're set for life. You'll also have a space heater!

I have an AMD Quad Core Processor. IDK what the price range is, as I'm not the one buying it. My dad is. He said he wants something good. So I came here for help.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that.
Re: Best GFX card to buy
what resolution?
I'd say an ATI 4850/5750 or 5770 depending on the resolution you are running at. Don't bother with Nvidia cards right now, their current generation is loud, hot, and overpriced

I have palit radeon HD4850 (1gb), it's great and pretty cheap, especially if you buy a used one.
