Re: ACTA
Does this mean we'd have to buy ****.
Edit:
Directly from wikipedia:
Newspaper reports advise the proposed agreement would empower security officials at airports and other international borders to conduct random ex officio searches of laptops, MP3 players, and cellular phones for illegally downloaded or "ripped" music and movies. Travellers with infringing content would be subject to a fine and may have their devices confiscated or destroyed
P2P file sharing is the new cocaine

Re: ACTA
Shop lift CDs to rip the audio to put on your MP3 player and then get arrested anyway? Yup, makes sense!
Gah.

Re: ACTA
No ripping CDs? How retarded. What's the point of an MP3 player if you can't listen to your own music...

Re: ACTA
SO we have to buy music off iTunes with all that DRM crap? Stupid, they really like pissing off consumers.
Re: ACTA
iTunes no longer has DRM (assuming you gave them money to remove the DRM they put on in the first place if you bought music from them years ago)

Re: ACTA
But those of us who prefer ACTUAL hard copies for our music are screwed...

Re: ACTA
Even if you support your favorite artists music by buying their CD, you get completely screwed over.
I would have to say future music players will be extinct, as these days people make bigger memory for songs and movies that most definitely were not bought in the first place. And the fact that you wouldn't be able to upload songs from a CD you bought just makes it worse.
I doubt this will ever pass, too many artists and companies are riding on our ways
