Get a PSP, it is a great over sized MP3 player. It also doubles as a crappy game player, crappy internet browser, and good pron viewer.

How does that not sound like something not built for MP3 playing? All the features I listed are for music and/or accessing it (WiFi).

Either way, I don't want a phone. Looking at the (spam), that looks aboslutely horrid to have for the sole purpose of listening to music. Hell, I really woulnd't want something like that for a phone. I never was too big of a fan of the huge keyboard making the phone huge deal. If I wanted a full keyboard, I'd go for something like an enV.

No, to the PSP. Way too bulky and the battery life will be no where near as good as something built for playing music. If I wanted to use a game player for music, I'll just keep using my DS like I am now.

This here looks pretty **** awesome. This is a big possibility.

There goes my suggestion.

I have heard about the zen's before, and from what I've heard they seem pretty good, but I don't know much beyond that. The site you linked had a few worrisome sounding reviews, so approach it with caution for now.

if you're looking for just an mp3-player, I have creative zen x-fi and it's pretty neat.

16gb memory
Sd card expansion slot
Radio
Has wifi but it's quite useless in this model, it's mp3 player, not an internet tablet
You can use creative centrale to transfer songs but it's not required
So easy to use a half brain dead monkey could use it.
Very customizable interface

Google for more

Of course creative also has it's flaws. In the first zen I got buttons were quite unresponsive, especially play which didn't work very well. But it had warranty and I got a new one which has since worked beautifully. Sometimes (read: not often) it freezes and has to be restarted but that's only a minor inconvi-- how do you spell that?

And oh, there's also 8gb zen model if that's more interesting.

well, if you are willing to wait and get about $50 then just get the 8GB archos 5 internet tablet. It has a very nice touch screen (800x480), built in wifi and bluetooth, supports MUCH more files that Ipods and zunes (HD videos, ogg vorbis, FLAC, MKV), can have android apps on it, expandable with a Micro SD slot, has a built in radio and can record tv shows (with a dock of course XD). The only real downside is that it's kinda big (long ways its big but its pretty thin). Other than that it's amazing

There it is

I would say either a ZuneHD or a Fuze.

ZuneHD has:

At least 8GB of built in storage
Radio
Wifi
Nice interface with easy to use controls

The Zune Software is easy to use and it's not a resource hog. The files from the Zune marketplace are DRM-free mp3... and it has HD radio built in. The reason I like the Zune is for $15/month you get unlimited access to the zune store and 10 mp3s a month. So, really, for $5 + a CD, I get unlimited access to the zune store.

the Fuze, well, you already know about. And if you get a v1 fuze, you can put rockbox on it.

The MP3 player I bought recently has everything I need except for:

Rapt0r wrote:Features I want
  • At least 8GB of built in storage
  • (micro)SDHC Slot expansion
  • Radio
  • Doesn't require proprietary software for songs, ect.
  • Maybe have Wifi?
  • Nice interface with easy to use controls

Even though it lacks some features, it even includes some additional features, such as:

I wrote:Features I (probably don't) want
  • Occasional FSoD
  • Laggy and unresponsive controls
  • Unnecessary voice recorder
  • Must use Windows Media Player to transfer songs to the device
  • Some MyDJ crap
  • Photos
  • Unnecessary armband (that's what pockets are for!)

This is a good MP3 player for $30 though.

Oh yeah, here's the link: http://www.ememorex.com/product_detail. ... P8595-BLK&.
PM me for my Wii or DS Friend Codes.

Since "DragonFail" "sucks" so much, I won't post anything related or about them any longer.

That's $80 and it's only 4gb. That's terrible.

ZuneHD: I don't want to have to use their software and I could care less about their store. If I want to buy music, I'll buy the CD. I like to physically own my music.

for ipod touch buy a 1st or 2nd gen
jailbreaking 3rd gen is a little complicated, plus the jailbreak wears off when you turn it off/or have no more battery

It re-installs when you turn it back on. It's called a tethered jailbreak.
