Re: iPad
I think they should put a strap of some sort in the back so you wouldn't drop it when you're trying to use it.

I read someplace (I'll try and dig up the link) that Microsoft and (I think) HP are making tablets too, and there's rumors of a deal where if you get a subscription to content from certain people (contract-subscription, like a cell phone) you get the tablet free. That would be worth looking into, IMO.
Edit: Ok, it's Dell and Intel that are collaborating. link
I got turned off of Apple products when I found out that you had to BUY firmware updates for the iTouch. And it's not like these are optional either, it's "if you want to keep using apps, you're paying $5-10."
The HP one is called the HP Slate. Here's a link to a comparison between it and the iPad (and the Kindle): http://www.electronista.com/articles/10 ... .and.apps/

Re: iPad
Wow, it looks and sounds completely useless.
Congrats to Apple!
I heard my Pre-Calculus teacher talking about this thing today. Unaware of the situation, I thought she was talking about an app for her iPod that helped her predict her menstrual cycle.

Dead drummers.
Also, that is suuucch a waste of money. You could easily buy a netbook for way cheaper and still have a hell of a lot more functionality.

Re: iPad
I don't know what to expect of this one, it seems people have both good and bad opinions about it. It has been called stuff like 'an oversized iPhone w/o a calling function' or 'Just another netbook', it could still be good but just doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table.

No multitasking alone makes it almost useless.
Well, you could have multitasking if you had 5 of them

multitasking costs $2000 wooo
oh, and if you have the good one it costs like $5000
Re: iPad
Which is why *puts his flame shield up* this is just another case of Apple saying "We could paint sh*t silver and put an apple logo on it, and sell it for $500 and you guys would buy it, so we're not even gonna try." Seriously, as sleek and good-looking as Apple's products are, I would NEVER buy one (at least, any of the ones announced so far) at full price. The worst bit is that they could have included multitasking and flash support, and then it'd be a pretty decent product...
