Can't Play Left 4 dead

I recently loaded L4D onto my laptop but when I run it and start up a game, I barely can get past a cut scene, then the game freezes. My laptop is a Dell Latitude D610, I don't know the specs because it was given to me as a gift w/out the box. I've had the laptop for a year or two, so it's maybe 3 years old at max. I'd like to know if there's just something I need to change in the settings, or if I'm just totally ****ed.

Why not find out the specs of your computer under system information or, better yet, POST ON A LEFT4DEAD FORUM?

I don't think 64MB of video memory is enough for L4D, it's a pretty demanding game.

I work in the NHS and Dell D610s were the bog-standard laptops that we used to provide to users, and that was probably ~2006. I don't think you'd ever get L4D working on a machine like that.

Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.
