depends how you use it
many games have i purchased after trying them

my theory is;
if a 'what appears to be an interesting' game costs £40
i'm not paying £40 without knowing its going to entertain me for longer than what it takes to earn that money
so i'll download it an see..
i have morals - but the world taught me 'business'
so if said game will last longer than a few hours, its a worthy buy.
& if not, it gets deleted coz it's then not even worth the HDD space.

the games exist as a business
the 'anti-piracy' organisations exist as a business
so like fkuc am i not going to look at it like business, too.

bare in mind that if someone had absolutely no intention of ever buying the game/movie/whatever they illegally downloaded (whever they like it or not) it wouldn't effect 'the industry' in any way at all.
the figures they produce about how much p2p file sharing costs 'the industry' is complete bs

There are demos, previews, reviews, and videos that can give a first impression. I usually wait for the price to drop anyway.

Not exactly a success story, but I "tried out" CoD 4. I wanted to get a feel for the campaign and the overall gameplay; once I tried the multiplayer from a friend's place, I went out and picked up a boxed copy; by that time the GOTY edition was already out. Same went for Lego Starwars 2 and GTA IV(the latter when I was sure the patches would work out all the kinks).

Seriously? Why not?
A. It's not "false protection", the program clearly indicates BayTSP and MediaDefender trying to catch ya Ridin' Dirty constantly.
B. I've gotten it running alongside FireFox and GTAIV simultaneously. It ain't bloatware, either.
C. Anti-PGers claim you ain't getting the max speed of torrents; it's very likely torrent poisoning; companies lead you on a deceptively high speed leash creating hashfails that render completing downloads impossible.

Seriously, what's with all this vitriol on PG2? It helps to PROTECT you from the MAFIAA, it's not like it says "Hey, ESA, sue me!"

You should bear in mind that you sound like a complete idiot. You really think people who download full albums off of Limewire are going to then spend fifteen dollars at Wal-Mart or download them for a buck each off iTunes? No, because it's less convenient for the individual. Of course it limits how much money the artists make.

PG2 may help with some speed issues (as you stated in point C), but, it is not secure as secure as people tend to believe. I wish I could find this article that was written by an ex-copyright... enforcer? He pointed out all the bad reasons to not use PG2 (and supported each one quite well). The main reason I don't use PG2 though is because it kept interfering with my sites in firefox (plus I can't torrent on my new ISP).

There's nothing wrong with PeerGuardian. It's a program that maintains blacklists for IP addresses. If you try to connect to a malicious, government, anti-P2P, etc. address, then it may block the connection. This is by design and is entirely the point of having it. It is optional to have it monitor your HTTP traffic, so you can't blame PG2 for working as it is configured to if it should happen to block some of your web communication to blacklisted addresses.

GH games aren't that expensive. Why download?
Also, game collection looks way cooler with original boxes etc. Downloading games is just stupid imo.

GH games are born to be rentals. GH5 really sucks as a platform in terms of instrument quality and number/selection of songs

On PC though, the only choice is buying a really badly ported game with no DLC. It's pretty dumb.

Well tell me why you think I am wrong rather than simply bash it.

Your argument was at least three strawmen all bound together, how do you expect anyone to respond to that?
