What are the best PlaystationOne Games?

Yeah. I'm trying to find some new games for the playstation. I found a game called "Parasite Eve" that looked pretty cool so i'm having someone hold it for me while i think about getting it. But, what are some other good Playstation games? My favorite types are 1st Person Shooter, 3rd Person Shooter, and Action/Adventure. Maybe a few rythem games. I don't care much for Racing games though, unless they're really good. But any suggestion would be appreciated. I'm trying to find Silent Hill and Nightmare creatures but no luck there... So what are the best PS1 games?

Tony Hawk games were amazing. Especially Pro Skater 3...

Breath of Fire IV, probably the best RPG for the PS1. <_<
Seriously, there's actually some original ideas in this game, memorable characters, and actually improves on the gameplay of the previous games in the series, instead of simply making another game in the series (Final Fantasy...).
Some interesting things include being able to merge yourself with a dragon, integrating party members that are not currently in battle into the battle, lots of fun mini games where you'd never expect them to happen, and the ability to mix spills and abilities together.

If you like FPS's, you have Quake 2 and Medal of Honor/Medal of Honor: Underground.

For rythm games, you gave too much of those, to be honest. You can spend your whole life on DDR/Beatmania alone. You also have Um Jammer Lammy, PaRappa the Rapper and Vib Ribbon.

If you're not that much into racing games, how about something more simple, like Crash team Racing? If that's too simple for you, you have Wipeout, which are very rewarding as soon as you master it. There are also several Need For Speed games, which I enjoyed back in the day.

My recommendations are very much Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, as someone has mentioned already. You also have Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Tombi (Tomba in the US of A), a ton of Tony Hawk games, Tekken, Soul Blade, Rival Schools, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Silent Bomber, Azure Dreams, Star Ocean 2... I could talk all day...

Legend Of Dragoon was pretty awesome back in the days.
Tony Hawk 2 was the best!
Some other random games I liked: GTA 2 and Tekken 3 (only one I played, might be a better one). It's funny, I got about 20 games upstairs but can't really think of any good ones right now, must've been because it's been so long since I used my PS one.
Fighting Force is hilarious, especially when played with a friend!

instead of simply making another game in the series (Final Fantasy...).

My favourite is FF VIII, which was completely different from the others in the series so far (sci-fi theme, no armor/gear to collect, junction system, neat card game, different magic system than the other FF games, intricate system of cards/items/powerups) Plus good graphics for the time.

I have a burnt copy of that game, i wish i had the real version. that game was so fun. I especially loved the cut scene in the begining where the helicopter blows up. I also like the motel area, but those camel things are f**kin tough to beat with low ammo. But if i would say the best PS1 games are:

syphon filter (1-3)
Driver 1 and 2
smackdown 2 know your role
But i was heavily into driving games and shooters back then. I loved driver 2 more though. It was the first working GTA like experience

These are all the most famous ones. Most of the other games is some that i grew up with and loved more than the most famous ones. It is kinda like nes games, most of them are sh!t now but back then you played them all.

I think i remember a different game then you could jack vehicles. maybe it was an army men game or something. =O

Jumping Flash is an OK game. It's like a FPS/Platformer.
