"crack.exe" and **** lol

*sigh*....Really?

I thought people would know better than to think a crack is a virus. Same goes for keygens.
Virus protection always pick those up, but they are never actually viruses.

Are you saying that something called crack.exe is not a virus? *sight* indeed...

It wouldn't be called just crack, that's just a a generic name for them.
Cracks for games are never viruses.

Nothing is absolute, my friend. And when seeking things for free, one must always take care to ensure their security.

That having been said, most cracks are identified as a Virus/Trojan, but this doesn't necessarily mean they are. Of course, it doesn't mean they aren't either.

In any case, ISO Hunt, or Scrape Torrent are usually the places I hit up first. If I have no luck there, it's off to Google.

Sadly, since my ISP has blocked torrent traffic, I have to use filestube.com. (They blocked torrent networks completely, the bastards. I contacted them via phone to inquire about scheduling for low-activity hours, but they snubbed me.)

Well common sense, and doing a little bit of research before downloading something always helps.
I just always make sure to check comments, and see how many downloads there have been and how many seeders that there are. Most people won't continue to seed something if it's a virus, and will usually comment if it is.

trouble with all the public sites everyone has mentioned is; if google gets you there, it also gets any willing anti-piracy group there too. no probs
so grabbing unreleased or new material from any of those is not a good idea
-or depending on your local legislation, could be a risk involved even getting old material

nah if ya want good pre times & seeders who actually want you to download from them as quickly as possible, you'll have to find yourself a nice closed community, invite only private site.

i would only use public sites (such as Demonoid or TPB) as a very last resort if im looking for something really old
-TBP has no ratio system & is totally public - usually takes days to download just a few gigs & feels like you've been blessed if you reach 100%
& Demonoid is quite similar. The ratio system is totally useless as it can't detect cheaters & the new torrents are available to non members which means any new releases are easily monitored.

since the death of OiNK, i have'nt found a good place for music
might check out What.cd again though - last time i looked it was not worth going back for but fingers crossed..
if its even 10% now of what OiNK was i'll be happy in fact. really do miss that place

I never had an OiNK, but I'm pretty sure What.cd is the closest thing to OiNK out there. I have a what.cd account, and I have to say, it's awesome!

I'm not sure how many there were on OiNK but what.cd has nearly 600,000 torrents now.
