Favourite Song?

Postby mitch951 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 11:45 pm

Okay, I want to get some insight into what our musical tastes are here at FoF-FF.
So, if you play an instrument, name said instrument and tell us what is currently your favourite song to play on this instrument, also include the genre of music it is classified under.
My favourite at the moment would probably be Entrance Of The Conflagration-Trivium (Thrash metal*/metalcore) on guitar, this song has so much energy, some great riffs and great sequencing, etc.

*Im probably going to get bashed for this, but seeing as the vocals are aggressive and the song has an 80s thrash feel to it, im going to put this here. I'm simply putting in metalcore to please the majority of you closed-minded people.

I play drums, but my favorite songs vary every time I sit-down to play.

Last time it was Master of Puppets and Creeping Death by Metallica.

A tie between Hit the Lights and Motorbreath by Metallica. Motorbreath has a great jumpy riff, while hit the lights is full of energy. Both are very fun to play. Jump in the Fire is great as well, particularly the riff under the first solo

Right now? Prison Sex by Tool. Any bass line by them is great for me, as they are rhythm gods.

Chilli Peppers, Rush, Muse, and Tool always seem to have bass lines I can't get enough of.

I'm thinking either Troublemaker, El Scorcho or Pink Triangle by Weezer.

Right now... Hmm...

I couldn't tell you. It's probably a VersaEmerge song.

Currently whenever I pick up my guitar I'm playing All Nightmare Long by Metallica (metal obviously :P). I love this song. Easily my all time favorite Metallica song and the music video for it is **** badass. I've never seen a music video as well done as this one (aside from Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up).

I play that song too :D

After I mastered it, I began playing a heavier version of Toxic Garbage Island by Gojira. It's death metal already, then tuning down another step, playing a little faster, palm muting a little harder, bending my pinch harmonics a little more, and voila!
